Portofolio performance evaluation of Samuel sekuritas Indonesia during Januari-September 2002

Perusahaan investasi menawarkan jasa sebagai pengelola dana yang dimiliki pemodal dengan cara membentuk portfolio yang terdiri dari berbagai sekuritas yang dinilai prospektif dan kemudian memperoleh imbalan atas jasa yang mereka berikan. Evaluasi terhadap kinerja portfolio perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah pilihan atas portfolio memang bisa memberikan hasil yang baik (sesuai resikonya). Penelitian ini dipusatkan pada evaluasi kinerja portfolio SamueZ Sekuritas Indonesia selama January - September 2002. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis kinerja portfolio: Sharpe Index, Jensen Index, and Treynor Index, yang memperhitungkan baik risiko maupun return. Hail penelitian menunjukkan kinerja portfolio yang direkomendasikan Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia lebih unggul dari portfolio market dan portfolio tersebut telah telah terdiversifikasi dengan baik

Investment companies provide services to manage investors' fund by composing a portfolio from prospective securities and they get payment for their services. The evaluation of a portfolio performance has to be made in order to know whether choices of the portfolio can give better results (concerning its risks) or not. This research focuses on the performance evaluation of Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia during January - September 2002. This research uses portfolio performance analysis: Sharpe Index, Jensen Index, and Treynor Index, which incorporate both risk and retwn. The results show the performance of portfolio recommended by Samuel Sekurifas Indonesia is superior than market's portfolio and also show that the Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia 's portfolio has been well diversified.
