PERUBAHAN TINGKAH LAKU ESTRUS PADA SAPI PERANAKAN ONGOLE (PO) DAN PERSILANGAN SAPI SIMMENTAL DENGAN PO (SIMPO) YANG DISINKRONISASI DENGAN HORMON PGF2alfa

Sinkronisasi estrus merupakan usaha untuk menampakkan gejala estrus pada hewan ternak sehingga waktu inseminasi buatan dapat diketahui dengan mudah. Banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi tampilan gejala estrus salah satunya breed. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon estrus antara sapi PO dan sapi SimPO dengan metode sinkronisasi estrus menggunakan preparat hormon prostaglandin F2alfa (PGF2alfa). Penelitian ini menggunakan delapan ekor sapi potong betina yang terdiri dari lima ekor sapi Peranakan Ongole (PO) dan tiga ekor sapi SimPO. Sapi disinkronisasi estrus menggunakan 5ml Prostaglandin (PGF2alfa),kemudian dilakukan pengamatan gejala fisik estrus, penilaian intensitas estrus, dan lama estrus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanbahwa antara sapi POdan SimPO memperlihatkantingkah laku estrus berupa gelisah, mukosa vulva berwarna merah dan bengkak,keluarnya lendir transparan dari vulva.Presentase intensitas estrus yang ditunjukkan 8 ekor sapi dengan estrus jelas (positif tiga) 50 persen sebanyak 4 ekor, sedang (positif dua) 50 persen sebanyak 4 ekor, dan kurang jelas (positif satu) 0 persen. Rata - rata estrus pada sapi PO adalah 24.72 lebih kurang 0,37 jam sedangkan pada sapi SimPO adalah 24.53 lebih kurang 0,72 jam. Dengan demikian, respon estrus sapi PO lebih baik dari sapi SimPO.

Estrus synchronization is a way to make estrus in female livestocks occurs in the same time so time artificial insemination (AI) program can be detection easily. Many factors can be signs of estrous, one of which is breed. The purpose of this research is to observe the effect of estrus synchronization by injection prostaglandin F2alfa to estrus response in PO cows and SimPO cows. This research used eight female beef cattle that consist of five PeranakanOngole (PO) cows and three SimPO cows. Cows were synchronized with Prostaglandin (PGF2alfa), then observation the clinical signs of estrous, intensity of estrous, and long of estrous. The result of estrus detection shows that all of synchronized cows, would be shows behavior of estrous like reddening of vulva, excess mucus discharge, and tone in uterus. The result showed that intensity of estrous with positive value (positive one) is shown by 0 percent, (positive two) is shown by 50 percent (4 cows), and (positive three) is shown 50 percent (4 cows) from 8 cows sampels. The avarege estrous in PO cows is 24.72 more or less 0,37 hours, while in SimPO cows is 24.53 more or less 0,72 hours. Therefore, PO cows is better in shows respons estrous than SimPO cows.
