GAMBARAN SITOLOGI VAGINA, HISTOLOGI OVARIUM DAN UTERUS KUCING BETINA (Felis catus)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran sitologi vagina dan histologi ovarium dan uterus kucing betina. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pengambilan swab vagina terhadap lima kucing betina dengan interval dua hari sekali selama 21 hari. Preparat swab vagina kemudian diwarnai dengan pewarna Diff-Quick. Preparat yang telah siap diamati menggunakan mikroskop cahaya untuk mengetahui jenis sel yang terdapat pada setiap fase estrus dalam satu siklus. Preparat histologi yang telah diwarnai diamati menggunakan mikroskop cahaya dan dilakukan pengambilan gambar menggunakan Optilab Image Viewer kemudian dilakukan analisa secara deskriptif. Hasil pengamatan preparat swab vagina kucing menunjukkan adanya sel intermediet dominan dengan presentase 71,67% pada fase anestrus, sel intermediet dominan dengan presentase 65,38% pada fase post estrus, sel superfisial tidak berinti dominan dengan presentase 62% pada fase estrus, dan sel intermediet dengan presentase 64,8% pada fase proestrus. Gambaran histologi ovarium kucing estrus menunjukkan folikel sekunder lebih dominan dibandingkan dengan kucing tidak estrus. Gambaran histologi uterus kucing tidak estrus memiliki tunika mukosa yang dilapisi epitelium kuboid simpleks, sedangkan uterus kucing estrus memiliki tunika mukosa yang dilapisi epitelium kolumner simpleks.

The aim of the research is to find out the overview of vagina cytology and the histology of ovarium and uterus of female cats. Vaginal swab is taken from five female cats once every two days for 21 days. Vaginal smear are dyed with Diff-Quick. Observation are done by light microscope with 10x magnification to find out the cell type which can be found in every phase of estrous in one cycle. The histological preparation are observed under a light microscope with 10x and 40x magnification and taken using Optilab Image Viewer, and descriptive analysis are performed. Based on observation of cat's vagina swab, it showed that domination of intermediate cell with 71.67% on anestrus phase, intermediate cell with 65.38% on post estrus phase, superficial anuclear cell with 62% on estrus phase, and intermediate is 64.8% on proestrus phase. Histology representation of estrus cat's ovarium show more secondary follicle than on normal phase. Histology representation of normal cat's uterus have the mucosa layer that lining by epithelium cuboid simplex, meanwhile an estrus cat have the mucosa layer that lining by epithelium columnar simplex.
