MUSEUM MINYAK BALIKPAPAN PENDEKATAN CORE BUSINESS DAN ARSITEKTUR METAFORA

Balikpapan merupakan kota yang mendapat julukan sebagai Kota Minyak, karena banyaknya perusahaan minyak yang melakukan pengolahan Minyak di Balikpapan. Terdapat banyak tangki-tangki minyak disekitar wilayah perusahaan Minyak. Tetapi Balikpapan belum memiliki suatu tempat yang dapat mewadahi seluruh pengetahuan tentang perminyakan yang dapat menyimpan informasi bagi masyarakat di Balikpapan dan sekitarnya, begitu juga tempat untuk melakukan sebuah kegiatan kuliah lapangan. Mahasiswa teknik perminyakan salah satu universitas di Balikpapan banyak yang mengeluh kalau sampai saat ini di Balikpapan belum bisa mencakup segala materi tentang perminyakan. Kemudian Munculah ide untuk membuat Museum minyak yang dapat mencakup itu semua, ternyata ini memang sudah pernah disetujui oleh pihak Pertamina maupun pihak Pemerintah Kota Balikpapan. Dan semoga kedepannya Museum minyak ini dapat menjadi sebuah ikon tambahan bagi kota Balikpapan tercinta, dan bisa bermanfaat serta bisa mencakup seluruh elemen masyarakat.

Balikpapan has been known as the City of Oil Industry due to its abundance of the oil source and the numbers of petroleum companies which undertake oil and petroleum tabulation. There are many petroleum tanks around the area of the petroleum companies. However, Balikpapan has not yet possess a particular place which hold the entire knowledge about oil where it could save the information for people in Balikpapan and the nearby area, as well for the field study acivity to be taken place. The students of Oil ad Petroleum Engineering in one of the nearest university often complain that until nowadays, Balikpapan can not cover material about Oil and Petroleum as a whole. After then, my idea to design an Oil Museum which cover all the need has been arised. Apparently, this idea had been approved by Pertamina as well as it is by the City Government of Balikpapan. It is expected that this Oil Museum would be able to become an icon for the city of Balikpapan and bring a good deal of benefit for the entire. elements of the society in future.
