PERAN INOKULUM RHIZOBAKTERI OSMOTOLERAN TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI JAGUNG MANIS DALAM KONDISI CEKAMAN KEKERINGAN DI TANAH PASIR PANTAI

2016 | Skripsi | S1 MIKROBIOLOGI PERTANIANPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian inokulum rhizobakteri osmotoleran terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi jagung manis dalam cekaman kekeringan (100% dan 60% kapasitas lapangan). Tanaman jagung manis ditanam di polybag selama 77 hari dengan kondisi cekaman kekeringan pada aras lengas 60% dan 100% kapasitas lapang dan diinokulasi dengan inokulum rhozobakteri osmotoleran Al-19. Pertumbuhan dan hasil jagung manis diamati dengan mengukur tinggi tanaman, panjang akar, berat kering tanaman, berat kering akar, berat tongkol jagung, panjang tongkol jagung dan diameter tongkol jagung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa inokulasi rhizobakteri osmotoleran Al-19 dapat meningkatkan panjang akar, tinggi tanaman, berat kering akar dan berat kering tanaman 33%, 5,44%, 19,79% dan 18,76% lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan tanpa inokulasi, Produktivitas jagung manis berdasarkan berat, panjang dan diameter tongkol jagung 47,54%, 18,39% dan 17,53% pada kadar lengas 100% kapasitas lapangan lebih baik dari perlakuan 60% KL. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan rhizobakteri osmotoleran Al-19 di tanah pasir pantai bekas budidaya menghasilkan peningkatan pada pertumbuhan dan hasil jagung manis saat kondisi cekaman kekeringan.
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of osmotolerant rhizobacteria inoculation on growth and production of sweet corn under drought stress (100% and 60% of field capacity). Sweet corn was cultivated on the coastal sandy soil in polybag for 77 days and inoculated with osmotolerant rhizobacteria isolates Al-19, in which the water level was adjusted to 60% and 100% of field capacity. Growth and productivity of sweet corn was observed by measuring the shoot height, root length, shoot dry weight, root dry weight, corncob weight, corncob length, and corncob diameter. It was observed that the inoculation of osmotolerant rhizobacteria on sweet corn resulted in the increase of shoot length, plant height, root dry weight and plant dry weight by 33%, 5.44%, 19.79%, and 18.76%, respectively. The sweet corn productivity cultivated under 100% of field capacity resulted in the increase of corncob weight, corncob length and corncob diameter by 47.54%, 18.39%, and 17.53%, respectively. It was also noted that the use of osmotolerant rhizobacteria Al-19 as an inoculant improved the growth and productivity of sweet corn under drought stress.
