Komponen bisnis terdiri dari dua bagian penting yaitu customer dan profit, siapa yang akan menjadi customer dan bagaimana cara memperoleh profit. Adrian Slywotzky dalam bukunya Value Migration (1996) dan The Profit Zone (1998); menyebutkan lima element yang harus dimiliki oleh perusahaan untuk menghasilkan business model yang kuat, koheren, yaitu: customer selection, value capture, scope, strategic control dun organisasi alignment. Masing-masing komponen harus bekerja secara berkesinambungan, saling melengkapi dan terus berinovasi. Business model di era persaingan saat ini menjadi signifikan karena beberapa kasus perusahaan yang mampu meraih tingkat profitabilitas. Perusahaan tersebut telah mampu berada dalam profit zone area, dan menemukan profit engine yang menj adi kesuksesan dari business tersebut. Software-outsourcing provider adalah business model yang melayani jasa pembuatan software dengan konsep outsourcing yang memberikan keleluasaaan kepada client dalam menentukan sistem aplikasi sesuai dengan kebutuhannya. BaliCamp sebagai obyek studi kasus memiliki business model dengan konsep outsourcing yang berbasiskan pada customer relationship, client integration dan project methodology sebagai source of competencies.
Business model describe how component of businesses fit into another and working together. Business component consist of two main elements, which is customer and profit model, who will be our customer and how do we get the profit. Adrian Slywotzky in his book series Value Migration (1996) and The Profit Zone (1998) mentioned five elements of business model that a company should have, what are customer selection, value capture, scope, strategic control, and organizational alignment. All those element should work consistently, mutually reinforcing and coherently. In shifting landscape of competition thus become significant. In fact, several companies had succeeded to gain high profitability; for instance new-internetcompany. Those enterprises are able to met profit zone and creating profit engine. Software-outsourcing provider is a business model served software application development with outsourcing concept. This concept gave freedom to client in making software as fit as their needs. BaliCamp as case study has the business model which based on customer relationship (closeness to client), client integration (join development) and project methodology as source of competencies.
