Redesain Stasiun Karet dengan Pendekatan Integrasi

Stasiun merupakan satu komponen yang sangat penting untuk kota besar yang padat penduduk. Hal ini disebabkan karena moda transportasi kereta api adalah solusi yang tepat untuk meminimalisir kemacetan yang disebabkan oleh pergerakan populasi penduduk dalam jumlah yang besar. Jakarta, ibukota negara Republik Indonesia, merupakan kota dengan kepadatan penduduk tertinggi di Indonesia dan kemacetan menjadi masalah yang tak terhindarkan di kota tersebut, sehingga kebutuhan akan sarana transportasi kereta api disadari oleh Pemerintah DKI Jakarta. Namun sayangnya fasilitas transportasi kereta di Jakarta masih jauh dari kata maju jika dibandingkan dengan negara tetangga seperti Filipina, Singapura, atau Malaysia. Padahal masuknya teknologi kereta api di Indonesia terhitung lebih awal daripada negara Asia Tenggara lain, namun perkembangannya masih belum maksimal. Seiring dengan meningkatnya kemacetan, Pemerintah DKI Jakarta menyusun wacana program kerja tentang Pengembangan Moda Transportasi Masal untuk memenuhi kebutuhan akan sarana transportasi publik. Dengan adanya wacana ini, fasilitas pendukung sarana transportasi, khususnya Stasiun, juga harus turut dikembangkan. Stasiun Karet merupakan salah satu stasiun yang berada di lokasi yang cukup strategis di Jakarta karena dekat dengan parkantoran, pusat perbelanjaan, dan permukiman. Selain itu, Stasiun Karet memiliki banyak potensi terkait letaknya yang berbatasan dengan Sungai Ciliwung dan kawasan sekitarnya. Namun potensi ini belum disadari sepenuhnya oleh Pemerintah DKI Jakarta melihat kondisi Stasiun Karet saat ini yang dinilai kurang layak. Isu mengenai buruknya kondisi Sungai Ciliwung juga menjadi salah satu masalah yang diangkat sebagai konsep penekanan integrasi. Dengan dibantu oleh dosen pembimbing, penulis menganalisis berbagai isu tentang Stasiun Karet dan kawasan Sungai Ciliwung sehingga mendapat suatu solusi berupa konsep untuk aplikasi desain yang diharap dapat menjawab permasalahan–permasalahan tersebut. Selain itu, isu-isu lain mengenai perencanaan messo seperti wacana pengembangan transportasi Kereta Monorail, MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), dan Kereta Bandara juga menjadi bahan pertimbangan untuk dianilisis oleh penulis.

Railway station is one of the most common component in a metropolitan cities which are loaded by inhabitants. The reason is because train is the most effective solution to minimize the bad traffic which is occured from the high density of urban movements. Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia, is a city which has high numbers of population and suffers from the serious problem of poortraffic. Which is why the necessity of the exact transportation mode is being common and has been noticed by the government of DKI Jakarta. However, it is very unfortunate that the facility of the train transportation is still far from proper compared to neighbouring country such as The Phillipines, Singapore, or Malaysia. Whereas the beginning of the train transportation technology was started earlier than any other countries in Southeast Asia, but the development has not reached the maximum point. As the traffic getting worse, the province government is arranging a discourse to work on the public mass transport development to qualify the need of public transportation. Together with the discourse, the related facility of the transportation notably train station, is supposed to be developep as well. Karet Station is one particular station which has strategic location in Jakarta due to its accessibility to the business district, shopping centre, and the settlement. Beside, the station has a great deal of potential aspects connected its border to Ciliwung River and the surrounding neighbourhood. However, these potentials have not been recognized by the government since the station is still lack of advisabillity. The issues regarding to the station's lack of convinience become the problem that will be elaborated through the integrated design approach. Helped by the advisor, the writer will analyze several issues refer to Karet Station dan Ciliwung river neighbourhood in order to obtain the solution in the form of design concept to be applied that is expected to solve the mentioned problem. In the other hand, the issues relating to the mezzo urban planning such as Monorail Train, Mass Rapid Transit, and Airport Train development will also become the consideration for the analysis.
