PERKEMBANGAN TINGKAT KOMPETISI TAJUK JATI PLUS PERHUTANI ASAL STEK PUCUK DI KPH NGAWI

Jati Plus Perhutani (JPP) asal Stek Pucuk (SP) dikembangkan untuk menghasilkan tegakan jati produktif dengan pertumbuhan cepat. Dalam upaya memperoleh tegakan tersebut, diperlukan informasi mengenai kondisi tajuk yang berkembang serta informasi ruang tumbuh tegakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perkembangan kompetisi tajuk JPP SP di KPH Ngawi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di KPH Ngawi, Perum Perhutani pada bulan Oktober 2015. Sampel berupa 30 pohon dominan serta 8 pohon tetangga setiap pohon sampel di setiap petak. Petak pengukuran dipilih berdasarkan kriteria pertumbuhan baik dan N/Ha tinggi. Pengukuran pohon inti menggunakan parameter diameter, tinggi total, jari-jari tajuk dan tinggi pada jari-jari tajuk sedangkan pada pohon tetangga menggunakan diameter dan tinggi pohon. Besar sudut beta diperoleh melalui analisis rerata kuadratik pada parameter jari-jari tajuk dan rerata aritmatik pada parameter tinggi pada jari-jari tajuk. Pohon tetangga menjadi pohon pesaing jika tinggi pohon tetangga lebih besar dibandingkan tinggi virtual pohon dominan. Tingkat kompetisi pohon sampel dan pohon pesaing diperoleh menggunakan metode Hegyi dengan parameter diameter, tinggi pohon, jarak antar pohon sampel dan tetangganya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, setiap umur memiliki nilai indeks kompetisi yang berbeda sejalan dengan pertambahan umur. Kompetisi di setiap umur mengalami kenaikan seiring bertambahnya ukuran tajuk, walaupun kompetisi pada umur enam dan tujuh tahun memiliki nilai indeks kompetisi yang menurun. Kondisi tersebut disebabkan jumlah pohon tetangga yang lebih sedikit atau tidak lengkap sehingga jumlah pohon tetangga yang menjadi kompetitor juga akan lebih sedikit. Kompetisi akan cenderung bertambah seiring dengan pertambahan umur pohon, hal tersebut disebabkan oleh kebutuhan tanaman akan sumber daya untuk tumbuh dan berkembang.

Perhutani's teak plus from shoot cuttings is produced by Perhutani to obtain higher productivity with fast growing. The performance of stand productivity should be supported by information about the dynamics of crown condition and growing space of stand. This study was aimed to find out the dynamics of crown competition for Perhutani's Teak Plus from shoot cuttings in Ngawi Forest District. This research was conducted in Ngawi Forest District, East Java in October 2015. The number of 30 dominant trees and eight neighboring trees in each measurement plot was used as sample. The compartment was selected based on the criteria of good growth and high N/ha. The measurements of dominant trees were diameter, tree height, radius and height of crown radius, while the neighbor's trees were diameter and tree height. The value of beta angle was determined through the mean quadratic method on crown radius and the arithmatic method on height of crown radius. Neighboring trees were as competitor for the dominant trees if the height of neighboring trees were higher than virtual high of dominant trees. The level of competition was calculated by Hegyi method with parameters such as diameter, height, and distance between the sample and the neighboring trees. The results showed that in every age of plot had different level of competitions. The competition in each age increased following size of the crown, although the competition for 6 years and 7 years had fluctuatif values. Those condition was caused by the fewer of neighboring trees or in complete and the fewer of sample trees. The competition increased following the age because the tree needs the resources to grow and to develop.
