PERSEPSI MAHASISWA PENDIDIKAN DOKTER FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA TENTANG PEMANFAATAN KEGIATAN BEDSIDE TEACHING DALAM PROGRAM INTEGRATED CLINICAL PRACTICE DI LABORATORIUM KETERAMPILAN MEDIS

Latar Belakang: Mahasiswa telah dibekali dengan pengetahuan dan keterampilan medis hingga tahun ketiga semester keenam. Setelah mendapat bekal tersebut, mahasiswa diberi kesempatan oleh laboratorium keterampilan medis untuk mempraktekkan pengetahuan dalam kegiatan bedside teaching. Kegiatan ini menguji mahasiswa untuk menghadapi pasien sebenarnya. Tujuan: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui manfaat kegiatan bedside teaching dalam program integrated clinical practice untuk mengembangkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan medis serta menguji kesiapan mahasiswa sebelum bertemu pasien sebenarnya dalam rotasi klinis. Metode: Penelitian ini adalah studi kuantitatif dengan cara mengisi kuisioner terhadap mahasiswa pendidkan dokter angkatan 2011 keatas yang dipilih secara acak (n=43). Hasil: Diperoleh hasil berupa kegiatan bedside teaching memiliki hasil yang baik dalam efektivitas pelaksanaan, kemampuan komunikasi, kemampuan berpikir, kemampuan melaksanakan sesuai prosedur. Kemampuan menangani dan manajemen pasien perlu mendapat perhatian. Kesimpulan: 1).Mahasiswa memilki persepsi yang bermakna dalam efektivitas pelaksanaan, kemampuan komunikasi, kemampuan berpikir, kemampuan melaksanakan sesuai prosedur. Tetapi kemampuan menangani pasien dan kemampuan manajemen pasien dalam kegiatan bedside teaching perlu ditingkatkan 2). Tantangan terbesar dalam melakukan bedside teaching adalah kurang percaya diri. 3) Persiapan mahasiswa dalam melakukan bedside teaching seperti menggunakan buku ajar pemeriksaan klinis serta praktek informal dengan rekan-rekan.

Background: The students have been provided with the knowledge and medical skills to the sixth semester of the third year. After receiving these provisions, students are given the opportunity by skills laboratory to practice knowledge in bedside teaching activities. This activity is to test the students to face against the actual patient. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the benefits of bedside teaching activities in integrated clinical practice program to develop the knowledge and medical skills and to test the students preparation before meeting the actual patient in clinical rotation. Methods: The study is quantitative study in a way to fill the questionnaire against the students of pendidikan dokter program class 2011 and above (n=43). Results: The obtained results are bedside teaching activity has the good results perception in effectiveness, communication skills reasoning skills, procedural skills. The perceptual skills and management skills need an attention. Conclusions: 1).The students have meaningful perceptions in effectiveness, communication skills, reasoning skills, procedural skills, and managements skills. But perceptual skills and management skills in bedside teaching activity must be increased 2). The biggest challenge to do the bedsite teaching is less of confidence 3). The students’ preparations to do bedside teaching are using clinical text books and informal practice with the colleagues
