Quality control of stingray skin product in PT. Dian Mandala using statistical quality control method

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali manjemen operasional pada PT. Dian Mandala, terutama untuk mengetahui seberapa jauh PT Dian Mandala telah melakukan quality control pada produk akhirnya. PT. Dian Mandala adalah sebuah perusahaan keluarga yang memproduksi produk yang berasal dari kulit ikan pari. Produk pada PT. Dian Mandala telah diekspor ke pasar intemsional seperti Jepang, Korea, Singapura, Australia and the Amerika Serikat. Pada saat ini, perusahaan sedang memberikan penekanan pada pengembangan qualitas dari produk mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan Statistical Quality Control untuk memonitor dan mengatur proses pengontrolan kualitas pada produk akhir PT. Dian Mandala. Sedangkan untuk menganalisa, digunakan metode Control Chart, dimana metode P-Chart untu k memonitor persentase kerusakan yang terjadi selama proses produksi. Dengan menggunakan analisa ini, dapat diketahui bahwa suatu product masih terdapat pada control limit atau berada di luar control limit. Dan pemeriksaan ini dapat diputuskan bahwa suatu produk akhir dapat diteima atau tidak. Permasalahan akhir dapat diketahui dengan menggunakan diagram pareto. Kemudian perusahaan dapat segera menyelesaikan permasalahan-permasalahan yang muncul. Hasil dari analisa ini adalah masih terdapat kerusakan produk yang jatuh di luar batas kontrol. Oleh karena itu, perusahaan harus mengambil beberapa tindakan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan ini secepat mungkin agar kualitas produknya dapat ditingkatkan

The objective of this research is to explore the operations management at PT. Dian Mandala, especially in the context of finding out until how far, the quality control of the final product at PT. Dian Mandala has already met their require men ts . PT. Dian Mandala is a family owned firm engages in leather making industry. Their production has been exported to international market such as Japan, Korea, Singapore, Australia and the USA. Nowadays, this company is concerning to make an improvement of their quality products. This research is applying Statistical Quality Control to monitor and manage the quality control process of the final product in PT. Dian Mandala. The analysis method is using Control Chart Method, which is P-Chart method to monitor the proportion of defectives in a process. By using this analysis can be known whether our product is still in the control limit or already out of control limit. From this inspection we can decide whether the final product can be accepted of not. The problems and the final problems can be known by using the Pareto Chart. Then the company can solve the problem as soon as there is some problems occur. The result of this analysis is that there are still some defects products falls outside the control limit. Therefore, the company has to take some action to handle this problem as soon as possible to increase the quality
