Strategi layout adalah salah satu strategi-strategi kunci dari manajemen produksi dan operasional. Strategi layout memiliki pengaruh terhadap efisiensi dari proses produksi suatu perusahaan, dalam kaitannya dengan pemanfmtan waktu, tenaga kerja dan peralatan produksi. Secara mum tujuan dari layout fasilitas adalah untuk memaksimalkan efisiensi dan efektivitas operasional suatu perusahaan. Tujuan dari riset ini adalah untuk menganalisa efisiensi layout fasilitas PT. Sari Husada Tbk.. Tipe layout fasilitas yang dipergunakan PT. Sari Husada Tbk. adalah product-oriented layout. Permasalahan utama dalam product-oriented layout adalah meminimalisasi ketidakseimbangan mtara stasiun keja-stasiun kerja dalam lini produksi. Metode yang digunakan dalam riset ini adalah metode line balancing. Tujuan dari metode line balancing adalah membagi setiap elemen kerja ke &lam stasiun kerja-stasiun kerja dengan mempertimbangkan cycle time dan precedence relationship, sehingga output yang diharapkan dapat tercapai dalam h i produksi tersebut. Hasil dari riset ini adalah efisiensi dari lini produksi PT. Sari Hwda Tbk. belum optimal mengingat tingkat balance delay yang masih tinggi.

Layout strategy is one of the key strategies within the production and operation management. Layout strategy is influencing the efficiency of production process of the company in regard with the time, personnel and equipment utilization. Generally the objective of the facility layout is to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the company’s operation. The purpose of this research is to analyze the efficiency of plant facility layout of PT. Sari Husada Tbk. The type of facility layout that implemented in PT Sari Husada Tbk. is a product-oriented layout. The main problem within the product-oriented layout is to minimize the imbalance between the workstations within the production line. The method that employed in this research is line balancing method. The objective of the line balancing method is to assign the work elements into workstations without violating the cycle time and precedence relationship prerequisite so as the desired output can be achieved within the production line. The result of this research is that the efficiency of production line of PT. Sari Husada Tbk. is not optimum yet in regard with the high number of balance delay.
