Pengelolaan Sumberdaya Air Daerah Tangkapan Air Telaga Towet Kecamatan Panggang Kabupaten Gunungkidul

Keberadaaan Telaga Towet memberikan sumbangan besar dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan air penduduk di kawasan karst, terutama ketika musim kemarau tiba. Salah satu permasalahan utama yang timbul di telaga adalah pencemaran air karena limbah hasil kegiatan mencuci baju, mandi, memandikan ternak, dan minum ternak, hingga berdampak pada penurunan kualitas air telaga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1). Mengetahui karakteristik morfometri Telaga Towet, 2). Menganalisis kualitas air Telaga Towet dan status mutu air telaga, 3). Menganalisis kebutuhan air domestik dan neraca air daerah penelitian, dan 4). Menentukan strategi pengelolaan sumberdaya air daerah tangkapan air Telaga Towet melalui mikrozonasi daerah tangkapan air Telaga Towet. Metode yang digunakan sesuai dengan urutan tujuan adalah: 1). pengukuran lapangan, interpretasi citra Quickbird (Google Earth) tahun perekaman 8 Februari 2013, 2). Pengambilan sampel air telaga, uji laboratorium, 3). Wawancara dengan penduduk yang memanfaatkan telaga, 4) Forum group discussion (FGD) dengan perwakilan penduduk. Untuk mencapai tujuan pertama sampai ketiga juga dilakukan perhitungan dengan formula. Unit analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah satuan lahan, berdasarkan karakteristik bentuklahan dan penggunaanlahan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa morfometri telaga dipengaruhi oleh musim. Kondisi kualitas air Telaga Towet disamping dipengaruhi oleh musim juga dipengaruhi oleh aktivitas penduduk di dalam telaga. Secara kuanitas, Telaga Towet mampu memenuhi kebutuhan air penduduk, namun tidak secara kualitas. FGD menghasilkan upaya pengelolaan sumberdaya air daerah tangkapan air Telaga Towet dengan membagi zonasi-zonasi berdasarkan satuan lahannya (mikrozonasi). Mikrozonasi daerah tangkapan air telaga merupakan salah satu strategi yang dapat diterapkan untuk menjaga keberlangsungan Telaga Towet.

The existence of Towet Telagas contribute greatly in supplying the water needs for the people in the karst region, especially during the dry season. Towet Telagas is utilized to many activity such as bathing, washing clothes and livestock drinking and bathing, produce chemical waste that caused water pollution. The pollution decrease the water quality and affect the sustainability of the ecosystems around the lake. This research aims to :1) assess the morphometry of Towet Telagas; 2) analyze the water quality status; 3) analyze the domestic water needs and the water balance of study area and 4) define the water resources management strategy of Towet Telagas catchment area through area microzonation. The method used in order to address the research aims is 1) field measurements and interpretation of Quickbird image (captured from Google Earth), acquisition date 8 February 2013 2) lake water sampling and laboratorium test, 3) interviews with people who use the water lake and 4) conduct Forum Group Discussion with the representatives of villager. Objectives one to objective three achieved by calculation with formula. The unit of analysis used in this study is land unit, based on the characteristics of landforms and landuse. Results showed that the lake morphometry is affected by seasons. Towet Telagas water quality also affected by the seasons and people's activity on the lake. Towet lake able to supply the water needs in quantity term, but not in quality. Towet lake water resources management is done by divining the catchment area to several zones based on the land unit (microzonation). This strategy can be applied to keep Towet lake remain sustainable.
