Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan metode identifikasialternatifyang dapat diandalkan,apabila metode yang telah baku tidak dapat digunakan. Identifikasi melalui rigi palatum gigi diyakini cukup menjanjikan karena sifat dari rigi palatum yang individualistik dan letaknya yang berada dicavitas oral dilindungi oleh mulut, pipi, dan mukosa bukal. Tujuan :Untukmengetahuiperbedaancirirasio jumlah rigi-rigipalatum terpotong garis potonglintang caninus dan garis-garis bujur interdental incisiva sejajar medianline palatalantara mahasiswaIndonesia dengan India di Yogyakarta. Metode :Desainpenelitianyangdigunakandalam penelitian ini adalahcross sectional study. Kemudianuji perbedaan format ciri pada kedua populasidilakukan pengolahan datamenggunakan analisist-Test(Independent Samples). Hasil :Daridatapenelitianyangtelahdidapat kemudiandilakukanujistatistikmenggunakanspssversi 22.0didapatkanhasilPvalue>0,05yangartinyatidak terdapatperbedaanbermaknacirirasiopadamahasiswa Indonesia dengan India di Yogyakarta. Kesimpulan :Tidakterdapatperbedaanbermaknaciri rasio jumlah rigi palatum yang terpotong garis potong lintang intercaninus dan garis-garis bujur interdental incisiva sejajarmedian line palatalantara mahasiswa Indonesia dengan India di Yogyakarta. Background: Various natural disasters and criminal acts have caused difficulty to identify victims due to different victim conditions. Therefore, it is necessary reliable alternative identification method when standard method cannot be used. Identification through palatal ridge is a promising method due to characteristic of the palatal ridge and its location in oral cavity protected by mouth, cheek and buccal mucosa. Objective : To identify different ratio of palatal ridges amount crossed by canine cross-sectional lines and parallel meridian of median palatal line between Indonesian students and Indian students in Yogyakarta. Method : It used cross sectional study. Characteristic format difference on both populations was analyzed using independent sample t-test. Results : Data obtained was tested statistically using SPSS version 22.0, resulting in P > 0.055 that means there is no significantly different ratio characteristic between Indonesian students and Indian students in Yogyakarta. Conclusion: There is no significantly different ratio of palatal ridges amount crossed by canine cross-sectional lines and parallel meridian of median palatal line between Indonesian students and Indian students in Yogyakarta.
