Populasi penduduk di Kota Yogyakarta dan sekitarnya yang semakin bertambah mengakibatkan kebutuhan masyarakat akan lahan tempat tinggal semakin tinggi. Hal ini terjadi karena Kota Yogyakarta mempunyai banyak perguruan tinggi negeri maupun swasta yang menarik banyak anggota masyarakat untuk mencari pendidikan yang baik. Selain itu faktor daya tarik wisata Kota Yogyakarta adalah kaya akan wisata budaya dan wisata alam. Terlebih lagi dengan kondisi Kota Yogyakarta yang aman dan kondusif serta masyarakat Kota Yogyakarta yang ramah dan terbuka dengan masyarakat pendatang baru dari luar daerah. Hal ini tentu saja sangat menarik minat masyarakat untuk mengunjungi Kota Yogyakarta, bahkan menarik masyarakat luas untuk menetap dan tinggal di Kota Yogyakarta. Dengan adanya kondisi inilah yang membuat banyak pembangunan pembangunan perumahan baru yang ada di Kota Yogyakarta maupun di wilayah sekitar Kota Yogyakarta. Salah satu daerah yang memiliki pertumbuhan pembangunan perumahan yang begitu pesat adalah wilayah Kecamatan Banguntapan.Semakin banyak perumahan tentu membuat masyarakat mempunyai banyak pilihan untuk memilih perumahan yang akan dijadikan tempat tinggal. Untuk mempermudah masyarakat dalam mencari informasi perumahan yang ada, salah satu solusi yang dapat digunakan yaitu dengan menggunakan Peta Informatif berupa Peta Tematik Persebaran Perumahan. Pembuatan Peta Tematik Persebaran Perumahan di Kecamatan Banguntapan dilakukan dengan melakukan digitasi peta dasar berupa Peta Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah Kecamatan Banguntapan dengan skala 1 : 25.000 yang dibuat oleh Dinas Pekerjaan Umum Kabupaten Bantul. Hasil dari proses digitasi peta dasar tersebut berupa layer jalan, layer batas desa, layer jalan kereta api dan layer sungai. Kemudian untuk memperoleh koordinat posisi dari perumahan dilakukan survey lapangan menggunakan GPS handheld Garmin etrex 30. Setelah itu koordinat perumahan hasil survey lapangan tersebut di input kedalam software ArcGis menjadi layer koordinat perumahan dan digabung dengan layer-layer hasil proses digitasi. Setelah itu dilakukan proses georeferensi, input data atribut, dan layoutinguntuk menjadi Peta Tematik Persebaran Perumahan Kecamatan Banguntapan. Hasil akhir dari kegiatan Pembuatan Peta Tematik Persebaran Perumahan Kecamatan Banguntapan ini yaitu tersedianya Peta Tematik yang berisi beberapa perumahan yang ada di Kecamatan Banguntapan yang memiliki data atribut foto perumahan dan foto sample unit rumah, luas per unit rumah, ukuran unit rumah yang ada, lokasi perumahan, serta harga jual per unit rumah di perumahan tersebut.

Because the city of Yogyakarta has many public and private universities which attracts many people to seek good education. In addition, factors Yogyakarta tourist attraction that is rich in cultural tourism and its natural attractions. Moreover, the condition of the city of Yogyakarta that is safe and conducive and friendly people of Yogyakarta and open to the public newcomers from outside the area.It is of course very attract people to visit the city of Yogyakarta, and even attract the public to settle and live in the city of Yogyakarta. With the condition that makes the number of construction of new housing development in the city of Yogyakarta as well as in the region around the city of Yogyakarta. One area that the growth of its residential development is so rapid is the District of Banguntapan.The increasing number of housing certainly makes people have many options to choose housing that will be a place to stay. To facilitate the public in seeking information existing housing, one of the ways that can be used is by using the form Informative Map Thematic Map Distribution of Housing. Thematic maps may contain information about a picture or photograph of the house, the size of the home, the location of the house is located, the selling price of the house and the number of existing units.With the District Banguntapan condition that has many residential and geographic location close to the city of Yogyakarta, manufacture Thematic Map Distribution of Housing in the District Banguntapan indispensable. This is to provide detailed information and easily understood by the public regarding housing information in the District Banguntapan. The Thematic Map Distribution of Housing in District Banguntapan was done by digitizingbase map of the District Spatial Plan Banguntapan a scale of 1: 25,000 made by the Department of Public Works Bantul. The results of the digitization process of the base map were used to create layersincluding roads, village boundary, railroad, and river layers. The maps were registered into UTM map coordinate system done through georeferencing processes. To obtain the coordinates of the position of the housing complexes, field surveys using handheld Garmin GPS etrex 30 were conducted. These coordinates then were input into ArcGIS software to createa layer which was combined with other layers. Once the layers are created, then the attribute data were related to the respective layers. The combination of the layers then beceme a composite layer that was ready to be cartographically designed and layouting to become Thematic Map Distribution Housing District of Banguntapan. The map contained some of the existing housing in the District Banguntapan which has the attribute data includingphotos of the sample housing units, area per housing unit, the size of the housing units, the location of housing, as well as the selling price per unit of a residential house it.
