MOTIVASI PERAWATAN ORTODONTI LEPASAN PASIEN REMAJA AKHIR RUMAH SAKIT GIGI DAN MULUT PROFESOR SOEDOMO FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN GIGI UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA

Keberhasilan perawatan ortodonti menggunakan alat ortodonti lepasan tidak hanya tergantung pada kemampuan dan peralatan operator, tetapi juga dipengaruhi oleh motivasi pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi perawatan ortodonti lepasan pasien remaja akhir di Rumah Sakit Gigi dan Mulut Profesor Soedomo Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Gadjah Mada. Subjek penelitian adalah pasien perawatan ortodonti lepasan umur 17-25 yang dirawat oleh mahasiswa kepaniteraan RSGM Prof. Soedomo FKG UGM, berjumlah 112 orang. Motivasi subjek penelitian dinilai melalui kuesioner yang telah dilakukan uji validitas (Pearson Product Moment) dan reliabilitas (Alpha Cronbach) pada p = 5%. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis Chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat terdapat perbedaan bermakna ( p < 0,05 ) antara motivasi intrinsik dan motivasi ekstrinsik. Motivasi intrinsik (X = 3,048) lebih mempengaruhi perawatan ortodonti pasien remaja akhir daripada motivasi ekstrinsik (X = 2,857). Perbedaan bermakna ( p < 0,05 ) juga terlihat pada motivasi perawatan ortodonti lepasan pasien remaja akhir perempuan dan laki-laki. Remaja akhir perempuan (X = 3,180 ) mempunyai motivasi perawatan ortodonti lepasan lebih tinggi daripada remaja akhir laki-laki (X = 2,725). Motivasi intrinsik lebih banyak mempengaruhi remaja akhir melakukan perawatan ortodonti lepasan daripada motivasi ekstrinsik dan motivasi perawatan ortodonti lepasan remaja akhir perempuan lebih tinggi daripada laki-laki.

The success of removable orthodontic treatment is not only dependent on the capabilities, equipment and supplies of orthodontist but also influenced by patient motivation. The aim of this study was to reveal the motivation that affects more removable orthodontic treatment at late adolescent patients, and to know the difference removable orthodontic treatment motivation at late adolescent patients between male and female in Professor Soedomo Dental Hospital Faculty of Dentistry, University of Gadjah Mada. The subjects were removable orthodontic treatment patients aged 17-25 that maintained by Co-ass of RSGM Prof. Soedomo FKG UGM, 112 people. Motivation of subject measured by a questionnaires that has been tested for validity (Pearson Product Moment) and reliability (Cronbach alpha) in p = 5%. Data were analyzed using Chi-square analysis. The results showed there were significantly different (p < 0.05) between intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation (X = 3.048) more affect late adolescent patients orthodontic treatment than extrinsic motivation (X = 2.857). Significant difference (p < 0.05) were also seen on the removable orthodontic treatment motivation between late adolescent patient male and female. Late adolescent females (X = 3.180) motivated removable orthodontic treatment is higher than the late adolescent males (X = 2,725). Intrinsic motivation more affects removable orthodontic treatment at late adolescent than extrinsic motivation and removable orthodontic treatment motivation at late adolescent in female is higher than male.
