Redesain Museum Kayu Wanagama Dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Edu-Wisata

2016 | Skripsi | S1 ARSITEKTURHutan lindung Wanagama, hadir saat itu dalam rangka inisiasi penghijauan oleh akademisi dari Fakultas Kehutanan UGM yang prihatin akan kondisi kehutanan Yogyakarta. Hutan yang dulu lebat lenyap karena eksploitasi, menyisakan tanah yang kering dan tandus tanpa adanya upaya pengjijauan. Dengan bermodal uang pribadi, inisiator penghijauan tadi, Prof. Oemi Hani�in Suseno dan kawan-kawan memulai pekerjaan besar mereboisasi lahan yang berjenis tanah mediteran coklat kemerahan tersebut. Kini wilayah Wanagama berfungsi sebagai tempat penelitian dan pendidikan, hutan percontohan dan hutan rekreasi. Pengunjung berdatangan untuk melihat Wanagama sebagai hutan yang tumbuh dari lahan kritis, Wanagama juga jadi tempat penyuluhan lingkungan hutan. Hamparan hutan kini telah kembali. Dalam rangka memperingati hari hutan saat itu, Perum Perhutani bersama dengan dua staff dosen UGM mendirikan museum kayu Wanagama sebagai ruang untuk belajar tentang kayu dan hutan. Meskipun begitu, museum kayu Wanagama ini, sebagai satu-satunya museum kayu yang ada di Indonesia belum tertata dan terkelola dengan baik. Penataannya membosankan dan tidak menarik. Paradigma museum masih menggunakan paradigma lama bahwa museum sebagai tempat untuk menyimpan benda Museum kayu Wanagama sebagai salah satu awal pemicu gerakan peduli hutan itu harus dikembangkan sebagai basis yang dapat menyalurkan ilmu dan semangat kepedulian akan penyelamatan lingkungan. Upaya penyelamatan lingkungan bisa diciptakan karena keinginan untuk itu. Melalui konsep wisata dan edukasi, orang akan turut serta menikmati susur alam dengan gembira, dan karenanya, akan dengan senang hati pula ia ingin memperbaiki alam mereka.
Preserved forest, Wanagama, present in order of the greening initiation by the academician of Forest Faculty, Gadjah Mada University which are concerned about the condition of the Yogyakarta forestry at that moment. The forest that used to be very dense and thick destroyed because of the human needs and exploitation leaving only a dry land without any attempt to restorate them. So, with their very personal money, Prof. Oemi Hani Suseno and his companions began the big reforestation work on that land. Now, Wanagama area serves as a forest for research, education, forest pilot, and recreation. Many people visit Wanagama to see the forest as a growing forest from critical areas, and also as environtment instigation. The forest are now back. To commemorate the forest at that time, the forest government along with the two lecturer of Forest Faculty Gadjah Mada University established the Wanagama Wood Museum as a place to learn and study the forest. Nevertheless, this museum, as the one and only wood musem in Indonesia, aren't serves the purpose and well managed. It was so uniteresting, dirty, and not reachable. It still uses the old paradigm that museum are just a place to store a collection. Wanagama Wood Museum, as the trigger movement concerning the forest reforestation, must be develope as a base to share the knowledge and spirit of concern to save the environtment. Environtmental effort can be created because there is desire for it. Through the concept of tourism and education, people will also enjoy recreation while learning, hence, would be gladly save and improve their surroundings and environtments.
