Pengelolaan hutan rakyat sistem agroforestri ikut berkontribusi dalam pengurangan emisi gas karbon dioksida (CO2) yang merupakan salah satu penyebab perubahan iklim. Desa Sendangrejo merupakan salah satu wilayah desa yang mengembangkan hutan rakyat dengan berbagai jenis tanaman penyusun agroforestri antara lain tanaman bambu wulung (Gigantochloa atroviolaceae Widjaja). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui potensi biomassa dan karbon serta serapan gas CO2 organ akar tanaman bambu wulung pada sistem agroforestri di hutan rakyat Desa Sendangrejo, Minggir, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Penaksiran potensi biomassa dan karbon organ akar tanaman melinjo bambu wulung pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode destructive sampling melalui pemanenan 32 sampel bambu wulung dari berbagai ukuran diameter setinggi dada (dbh). Kandungan biomassa diperoleh dengan cara mengeringkan sampel sampai mencapai berat kering konstan pada suhu 103ºC. Kandungan karbon dianalisis dengan metode Walkley and Black. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar karbon organ akar adalah 44,72 % dari berat biomassanya. Rerata kandungan biomassa organ akar yaitu 0,9018 lebih kurang 0,077 kg/pohon sedangkan rerata kandungan karbon yaitu 0,403 lebih kurang 0,036 kg/pohon. Persamaan allometrik hubungan diameter dengan biomassa adalah B = 0,194 e(0,18(Dbh)) (R2 = 87,8 %) sedangkan persamaan allometrik hubungan diameter dengan karbon adalah C = 0,092 e(0,172 (Dbh)) (R2 = 77,2 %). Berdasarkan hasil inventarisasi diketahui rerata potensi biomassa sebesar 15,061lebih kurang 2,494 ton/ha, rerata potensi karbon sebesar 6,679lebih kurang 1,101 ton/ha, dan serapan gas CO2 sebesar 24,511-4,039 ton/ha. Potensi di Desa Sendangrejo untuk biomassa sebesar 919,293 lebih kurang 52,229 ton, potensi karbon sebesar 407,673 lebih kurang 67,203 ton dan potensi serapan gas CO2 sebesar 1496,102lebih kurang 246,532 ton.
Land use and forest management people agroforestry systems have an important role in providing the needs of both timber and non timber. Community forest management agroforestry systems contribute to the reduction of emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), which is one of the causes of climate change. Sendangrejo village is one area that develops community forest village with various kinds of plants making up agroforestry include bamboo plants wulung (Gigantochloa atroviolaceae Widjaja). This study was conducted to determine the potential of biomass and carbon and CO2 uptake organ wulung bamboo plant roots in agroforestry systems in private forests Sendangrejo Village, District Minggir, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Assessment of the potential of biomass and carbon organ melinjo wulung bamboo plant roots in this study using destructive sampling method through the harvesting of bamboo wulung 32 samples of various sizes in diameter at breast height ( dbh ). The content of the biomass is obtained by drying the sample until it reaches a constant dry weight at a temperature of 103 plus minus2° C. The carbon content was analyzed by the method of Walkley and Black. The results showed the carbon content root organ is 44.72 % of the weight of biomass. The mean organ root biomass content is 0.9018-0.077 kg/tree while the average carbon content is 0,403plus minus 0,036 kg/tree. Allometric equation diameter relationship with biomass is B = 0,194 e(0,18(Dbh)) (R2= 87,8 %) whereas the equation of allometric relationships with the diameter of carbon is C = 0,092 e(0,172 (Dbh)) (R2 = 77,2 %). Based on the results known to the average inventory of biomass potential of 15,061plus minus 2,494 ton/ha, the average carbon density of 6,679-1,101 ton/ha, and the uptake of CO2 by 24,511-4,039 ton/ha. Village Sendangrejo potential for biomass amounted to 66,660 plus minus 11,038 ton, the carbon potential of 29,561plus minus 4,873 ton and the potential uptake of CO2 by 108,486-17,877 ton
