KORELASI ANTARA KOMPONEN - KOMPONEN SINDROM METABOLIK, PROSTATE SPECIFIC ANTIGEN, DAN VOLUME PROSTAT PADA PENDERITA PEMBESARAN PROSTAT JINAK

2015 | Tesis-Spesialis | SP UROLOGILatar Belakang. Sindrom metabolik (MS) memegang peran penting dalam etiologi benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Komponen tunggal dari MS (obesitas, dislipidemia, hipertensi, dan resistensi insulin) serta sindrom itu sendiri dapat mempengaruhi pasien dengan risiko yang lebih tinggi dari BPH dan gejala saluran kemih bawah (LUTS). Namun, belum ada konsensus mengenai hasil terbaru.. Tujuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi hubungan antar komponen metabolik, prostat-spesifik antigen (PSA) dan volume prostat (PV) pada pasien BPH. Metode. Selama periode 1 Januari 2010 sampai dengan 31 Agustus 2013, 61 pria yang didiagnosis dengan benign prostatic hyperplasia didata. Volume prostat dengan ultrasonografi transabdominal prostat, serum prostate-specific antigen, dan marker yang terkait dengan sindrom metabolik diselidiki. Sindrom metabolik didefinisikan berdasarkan guideline dari National Cholesterol Education Program Third Adult Treatment Panel. Kami mengevaluasi hubungan antara PSA, PV dan komponen MS menggunakan uji Spearman dan uji T-Independen. Hasil. Volume prostat tidak berkorelasi dengan kriteria MS (p = 0,591) PSA Total juga tidak berkorelasi dengan kriteria MS (p = 0,305). PV tidak berkorelasi dengan masing-masing komponen MS; Kolesterol total (p = 0,593), trigliserid (p = 0,479), HDL (p = 0,702), LDL (p = 0,512), glukosa darah (p = 0,317). PSA total tidak berkorelasi dengan masing-masing komponen MS; Kolesterol total (p = 0,255), trigliserid (p = 0,543), HDL (p = 0,446), LDL (p = 0,615), glukosa darah (p = 0,987). Kesimpulan. Tidak ada korelasi antara kriteria sindrom metanbolik dan masing-masing komponennya dengan volume prostat dan PSA total
Background. Metabolic syndrome (MS) plays a potential role in the etiology of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Single components of MS ( obesity, dyslipidemia, hypertension, and insulin resistance) as well as the syndrome itself may predispose patients to a higher risk of BPH and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). However, there has been no consensus on recent results. Objective. This study was to evaluate the associations among metabolic components, prostatic-specific antigen (PSA) and prostate volume (PV) in BPH patients. Method . During the period from January 1, 2010 to August 31, 2013, 61 mens are diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia were enrolled. Prostate volume by transabdominal ultrasonography of the prostate, serum prostate-specific antigen, Metabolic syndrome related parameters were investigated. Metabolic syndrome was defined according to the modified National Cholesterol Education Program Third Adult Treatment Panel guidelines. We evaluated the correlation between PSA, PV and MS components using Spearman test and Independent t test. Results. Prostate volume were not correlated with MS criteria (p=0.591) PSA total olso were not correlated with MS criteria (p=0.305).
