Forum Sosial Dunia sebagai Kontrahegemoni terhadap Globalisasi Ekonomi Neoliberal: Pennyelenggaraan FSD tahun 2004 dan 2006

Globalisasi terus berjalan di bawah hegemoni sistem ekonomi neoliberal. Negara, aktor yang diharapkan dapat berperan mendistribusikan kesejahteraan, justru ada untuk mendukung hegemoni tersebut. Ia melakukan deregulasi, liberalisasi, dan privatisasi sektor publik untuk mengakumulasi kapital. Berlangsungnya globalisasi neoliberal ini juga ditunjang oleh keberadaan jaringan lintas negara dan lintas sektor melalui keberadaan forum-forum ekonomi, salah satunya Forum ekonomi Dunia. Forum Ekonomi Dunia menyuplai pengetahuan dan jaringan untuk memperluas pasar dan mengurangi hambatan-hambatan ekonomi. Sementara itu, gerakan perlawanan turut menambah kekuatannya seiringn dengan hegemoni globalisasi ekonomi neoliberal. Tersebutlah perlawanan Zapatista, protes Seattle, dan beragam perlawanan lain dari seluruh dunia ada untuk mencoba memprotes dan mendobrak bahwa ada yang salah dengan hegemoni tersebut. Salah satu gerakan tersebut adalah Forum Sosial Dunia. Ia merupakan ekologi perlawanan yang terdiri dari ratusan gerakan sosial dari seluruh dunia untuk menandingi Forum Ekonomi Dunia. Forum Sosial Dunia juga mencoba menandingi wacana neoliberalisme dengan membuat ruang terbuka untuk membicarakan dan membuat aksi perlawan itu.Melalui penyelenggaraan Forum Sosial Dunia Mumbai 2004 dan Polisentrisme 2006, penelitian ini ingin mengupas lebih dalam apa yang dilawan oleh Forum Sosial Dunia dan bagaimana perlawanan itu dilakukan.

Globalization continues to run under the hegemony of the neoliberal economic system. State, the actor who should do the distribution of welfare, in the other hand support the hegemony. State support the neoliberal economic system by doing deregulation, liberalization, and privatization public sector.The presence of transnational social network consist of businessmen, head of state, and researcher , also support the neoliberal idea by designing transnational forum. One of the forum, World Economic Forum, supplies knowlidge and network in expanding market, accumulating capital, and reducing economic protection. In the other hand, this neoliberal economic globalization brings contradictions in social welfare, and the resistance movement against it is growing. Zapatista resistance, the protest of Seattle, and other movements were trying to resist and making a contrahegemony against the neoliberal ideas. World Social Forum, a contradictory of World Economic Forum began to gathered social movement from all over the world to discuss resistance. World Social Forum called it as an ecology of resistance by making a contrahegemony to the neoliberal ideas. World Social Forum made it into open space in collecting the scattered resistance so they can make social movement and action. This research wants to explain what kind of resistance of World Social Forum and how it works through the World Social Forum Mumbai in 2004 and Policentric World Social Forum in 2006.
