Preferensi Lalat Buah Bactrocera cucurbitae (Diptera:Tephritidae) Terhadap 40 Galur Melon

Bactrocera cucurbitae adalah salah satu hama penting pada tanaman melon (Cucucmis melo). Kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh hama ini sekitar 40- 80% buah rusak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui variasi ketahanan tanaman serta derajat preferensi lalat buah Bactrocera cucurbitae pada berbagai galur melon dan mengetahui usia buah melon yang rentan terserang Bactrocera cucurbitae. Preferensi lalat buah di lihat pada 40 Galur melon yang ditanam dalam greenhouse kemudian dilakukan infestasi pupa pada umur buah dua minggu, umur buah tiga minggu dan umur buah empat minggu. Infestasi ulang diberikan imago dewasa berumur 12 hari sehingga saat dilapangan imago dapat berinteraksi dengan lingkungan dan memilih secara acak buah yang disukai untuk peletakan telur. Hubungan antara jumlah larva terhadap warna kulit buah, permukaan buah, ketebalan daging buah memiliki korelasi positif saat umur tanaman dua minggu dan tiga minggu. Galur tanaman yang tahan terhadap Bactrocera cucurbitae adalah Galur yang tahan terhadap lalat buah Bactrocera cucurbitae adalah Galur MELB158, MELB162, MELB164, MELB167, MELB171, MELB176, MELB177, MELB178, MELB180, MELB185, MELB187, MELB188 dan MELB 189. Bactrocera cucurbitae menyukai permukaan kulit buah melon Heavy corked (net kasar), warna kulit buah hijau tua dan abu-abu dan warna daging buah putih dan orange. Bactrocera cucurbitae is one of important pest in melon (Cucumis melo). The damage caused by Bactrocera cucurbitae is around 40- 80%. The aims of this research are to determine the variations in plant resistance and the degree of preference melon fly Bactrocera cucurbitae on some germplasms melon and to determine the age of melon that is susceptible to Bactrocera cucurbitae. The preference of melon fly on 40 germplasms melon on greenhouse was observed by infestating with pupa of Bactrocera cucurbitae on fruit two, three, and four weeks old fruit. Reinfestation was given the adult imago aged 12 days and the imago interacted with environment and randomly chose the melon was prefered to put their egg. The relationship beetwen the number of larvae with the skin colour of melon, the surface of melon and the flesh thickness of melon have a positive values when the melon was two and three weeks old fruit. Germplasms melon that preferred by Bactrocera cucurbitae are germplasms MELB158, MELB162, MELB164, MELB167, MELB171, MELB176, MELB177, MELB178, MELB180, MELB185, MELB187, MELB188 and MELB 189.
