Swing transmission adalah salah satu komponen utama excavator yang terdiri dari swing motor dan swing device berfungsi untuk memutar upperstructure dari excavator yang mana swing device diputar oleh swing motor. Swing device akan mengurangi putaran swing motor tetapi akan meningkatkan torsi sehingga excavator dapat berputar. Apabila swing device beroperasi secara tidak wajar, maka masalah-masalah akan mengganggu kinerja dari excavator. Masalah yang ada pada sebuah komponen tidak terlepas dari awal perakitannya atau proses assembling. Metode pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah dengan mengumpulkan data dari literatur, observasi dari proses assembling swing motor dan swing device, serta pengalaman mekanik dan foreman. Hal-hal demikian dapat membantu mengetahui proses yang dilakukan saat assembling. Banyak sekali proses yang perlu diketahui pada saat melakukan assembling hal ini sangat sulit dilakukan mahasiswa sehingga perlu adanya suatu standar operasional yang mudah untuk diketahui para mahasiswa. Karena pada saat praktek assembling sangatlah diperlukan suatu petunjuk dalam menjalankan prosesnya sehingga pekerjaan assembling dapat mudah dimengerti dan dipelajari oleh para mahasiswa.

Swing transmission is one of the main components comprising excavator swing motors and swing device serves to rotate the upperstructure swing of the excavator which device is rotated by a motor swing. Swing swing device will reduce the motor rotation but will increase the torque so that the excavator can rotate. If the swing device to operate improperly, then the problems will interfere with the performance of the excavator. Problems that exist in an inseparable component of the start of assembly or assembling process. The learning method used is to collect data from the literature, the observation of the process of assembling the motor swing and swing device, as well as the experience of mechanics and foremen. Such things can help identify processes performed when assembling. A lot of processes that need to be known at the time of assembling it is very difficult to do the students so that the need for an operational standard that is easy to know the students. Because by the time practice is required assembling a clue in running the process so that the assembling work can be easily understood and studied by students.
