Skripsi ini meneliti novel berjudul Daisy Miller yang ditulis oleh Henry James. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menemukan karakteristik sifat hedonisme yang ada pada Daisy Miller pada era Victoria, lalu membahas kepentingan gaya hidup hedonistik yang terlihat pada pemeran utama dalam novel Daisy Miller. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan objectif. Pendekatan ini digunakan untuk menganalisis karakter, karakterisasi, gaya hidup hedonistik pemeran utama, dan perkembangan jalan cerita dilihat dari alur cerita, sehingga dapat melacak pengaruh dari sifat hedonistik sang pemeran utama pada alur cerita novel Daisy Miller. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa gaya hidup sang pemeran utama memiliki peran penting dalam permbangunan jalan cerita.

This graduating paper examines Daisy Miller written by Henry James. The objective of this research are to find out the characteristics of Daisy Miller's hedonism in Victorian era, and then examine the significance of hedonistic lifestyle as shown by the main characters in Daisy Miller. The analysis is conducted with the Objective approach.The Objective approach is chosen in this research to analyze the character, characterization, main character's hedonistic lifestyle, and the development of the story by the plot. Therefore it can fully examine the significance of the main character's hedonistic lifestyle in the development of the Daisy Miller novella.The result of this research shows that the main character's hedonistic lifestyle play a significant role in the development of the story.
