PENGARUH FREKUENSI EJAKULASI SATU DAN DUA KALI SEMINGGU TERHADAP KUALITAS SPERMA SEGAR AYAM KETAWA

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh frekuensi ejakulasi satu dan dua kali seminggu terhadap kualitas sperma segar ayam Ketawa secara makroskopis dan mikroskopis. Penelitian ini menggunakan Independent Sample T-Test dengan membandingkan dua perlakuan. Perlakuan I (P1): Frekuensi ejakulasi seminggu sekali. Perlakuan II (P2): Frekuensi ejakulasi seminggu dua kali. Ternak yang digunakan berjumlah enam ekor ayam Ketawa pejantan yang dibagi secara acak menjadi dua kelompok. Kelompok pertama berjumlah tiga ekor pejantan dan dilakukan penampungan satu kali seminggu (P1). Kelompok kedua berjumlah tiga ekor pejantan dan dilakukan penampungan seminggu dua kali (P2). Penelitian ini dilakukan selama lima minggu. Penampungan sperma dilakukan setiap minggu dan tiap minggu sebagai replikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan nyata (P≤0,05) pada frekuensi ejakulasi terhadap motilitas spermatozoa yaitu (P1) 71,80±6,76% dan (P2) 76,00±3,75%, viabilitas spermatozoa yaitu (P1) 36,25±12,32% dan (P2) 64,37±9,90%, serta abnormalitas spermatozoa yaitu (P1) 21,28±8,63% dan (P2) 9,50±2,55%, namun tidak terdapat perbedaan nyata pada frekuensi ejakulasi terhadap volume sperma yaitu (P1) 0,48±0,21 ml dan (P2) 0,47±0,22 ml, pH spema yaitu 7,23±0,35 dan 7,49±0,48, serta konsentrasi spermatozoa yaitu (P1) 2,97±1,04 milyar per ml dan (P2) 3,12±0,64 milyar per ml. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah frekuensi penampungan sperma dua kali seminggu lebih baik dilakukan untuk memperoleh kualitas sperma ayam Ketawa dengan motilitas spermatozoa, viabilitas spermatozoa, dan abnormalitas spermatozoa yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan penampungan satu kali seminggu.

The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of ejaculation frequency of once and twice a week on sperm quality fresh chicken Ketawa macroscopically and microscopically. This study using the Independent Sample T-Test to compare the two treatments. Treatment I (P1): The frequency of ejaculation once a week. Treatment II (P2): The frequency of ejaculation twice a week. The animals that used were six Ketawa chicken males who were randomly divided into two groups. The first group of three males with once a week sperm collection (P1). The second group of three males with twice a week sperm collection (P2). This research was conducted for five weeks. Sperm were collected every week and each week as replication. The results showed there were significant (P≤0,05) at a frequency of ejaculation on sperm motility that were (P1) and 71,80±6,76% (P2) 76,00±3,75%, viability of spermatozoa that were (P1 ) 36,25±12,32% and (P2) 64,37±9,90%, and the abnormality of spermatozoa (P1) and 21,28±8,63% (P2) 9,50±2,55%, but there were no significant in the frequency of ejaculation of the sperm volume that were (P1) 0,48± 0,21 ml and (P2) 0,47±0,22 ml, pH spema that were 7,23±0,35 and 7,49±0,48, and the concentration of spermatozoa that were (P1) of 2,97±1,04 billion per ml and (P2) of 3,12±0,64 billion per ml. The conclusion from this study is the frequency of sperm collection twice a week was better performed to obtain fresh sperm quality of Ketawa chicken for sperm motility, sperm viability and sperm abnormalities better than the frequency of sperm collection once a week.
