Antecedent Factors of Corporate Entrepreneurship in Family Business Moderated by Collective Culture

Employing a sample of (n=150) firms in the context of the micro, small and medium size enterprises in Yogyakarta city. Corporate entrepreneurship as a characteristic attitude or process of organizations has been recognized by firms and scholars as an important concept contributing to firm success. Nevertheless, the potential benefit of corporate entrepreneurship to sustain family business across generation corporate entrepreneurship has been under researched in the family business literature. The relationship of willingness to change, generational involvement, perceived technological opportunities, competitive aggressiveness, strategic planning, and collective culture as moderating variable between the antecedent factors and corporate entrepreneurship that has not been considered before is examined. Findings suggest only two antecedent factors namely: willingness to change and perceived technological opportunities have a positive effect on corporate entrepreneurship, collective culture as moderating variable do not moderate the relationship between the antecedent factors and corporate entrepreneurship.
