The Importance of Program Editing Division in Jogja TV

Saat ini banyak perusahaan televisi lokal di Yogyakarta. Salah satu perusahaan televisi lokal yang mampu bersaing adalah PT Yogyakarta Tugu Televisi atau Jogja TV yang terletak di Jalan Wonosari KM. 9. Sama dengan perusahaan televisi lainnya, Jogja TV mempunyai program acara berita dan non-berita. Dibalik acara yang ditayangkan oleh Jogja TV, ada banyak karyawan yang berpartisipasi langsung dalam memproduksi sebuah acara, namun ada pula karyawan yang terlibat secara tidak langsung yaitu karyawan di bagian divisi program editing. Ada beberapa proses yang dibutuhkan untuk melakukan proses editing dan beberapa permasalahan yang muncul didalamnya. Beberapa metode yang digunakan untuk mengetahui proses tersebut adalah observasi lapangan, dan wawancara. Observasi yaitu dengan melakukan pengeditan program acara secara lansung di Jogja TV, ini dilakukan ketika penulis melakukan kegiatan magang di divisi program editing Jogja TV. Selanjutnya metode yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah wawancara dengan koordinator divisi program editing serta karyawan yang bekerja dibagian program editing. Selain itu, beberapa sumber dari buku dan internet menjadi penunjang tambahan dalam menulis tugas akhir ini. Dari hasil observasi dan wawancara penulis menemukan beberapa permasalahan yang ada di dalam divisi editing program. Permasalah pertama adalah naskah yang tidak sesuai dengan video yang ada, sehingga mempersulit editor dalam proses pengeditan. Kemudian permasalahan yang kedua adalah kesalahan dalam menulis nama, gelar, dan alamat narasumber dalam sebuah program acara. Permasalahan yang terakhir adalah waktu proses editing yang tidak sesuai dengan prosedur yang ada.

Currently, there are many television companies which are broadcasting in Yogyakarta. One of local television companies which is able to compete with other television companies is PT Tugu Yogyakarta Televisi or Jogja TV. Jogja TV is located at Wonosari Street Km. 9. Jogja TV has news and non-news programs. Behind the show which is broadcasted by Jogja TV, there are many staffs who participate directly in the production of the show. In the other hand, there are also some staffs who do not participate directly on production, those are staffs in the editing program division. There are several process needed to do editing process and problem found in editing program division. There are some methods used to know the processes, those are field observation and interview. Field observation is done by the writer by joining editing program division directly in Jogja TV. Field Observation is done when the writer did internship in editing program division of Jogja TV. Next, the method that is used by the writer is interview with the coordinator and some staffs in editing program division. Moreover, some books sources and internet research become additional supporter in the process to write this graduating paper. Based on observation result and interview done, the writer found some obstacles in program editing division. The first problem is script that is not accordance with the video, so it makes the editor confused in editing process. Then, the next problem is error in the spelling name, tittle, and informant address in a show program. The last problem is the editing process time which is not in accordance with the procedures standard of editing program division.
