PENGARUH PEMAKAIAN BRAKET TIPE STRAIGHT WIRE LOW FRICTION (SWLF) TERHADAP LEBAR LENGKUNG GIGI ANAK LAKI-LAKI DAN PEREMPUAN USIA 11-14 TAHUN (KAJIAN DI KLINIK KGA RSGMP PROF SOEDOMO FKG UGM)

INTISARI Perawatan orthodontik bertujuan untuk memperbaiki pola lengkung gigi dan koreksi maloklusi menjadi pola yang lebih normal atau ideal. Salah satu hal yang mempengaruhi stabilitas adalah keberhasilan mempertahankan bentuk lengkung gigi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana perbedaan pengaruh pemakaian alat orthodonsi cekat teknik SWLF terhadap lebar lengkung gigi anak laki-laki dan perempuan usia 11-14 tahun di RSGMP Prof. Soedomo FKG UGM. Subyek 24 anak berusia 11-14 tahun yang datang ke Klinik KGA RSGMP Prof Soedomo FKG UGM dan SMP N 1 di Pakem, dibagi 2 kelompok berdasarkan kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan serta jenis kelamin serta telah memenuhi persyaratan inklusi. Perhitungan ukuran lengkung gigi dilakukan pada cetakan model studi dengan mengunakan jangka sorong dan penggaris berdasarkan metode Arslan, et al (2007) sebelum dan setelah 1 tahun perawatan. Analisis statistik dengan menggunakan Uji Paired t-test. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa ukuran lebar lengkung gigi terdapat perbedaan bermakna (p<0,05) pada inter kaninus, inter premolar dan inter molar baik pada anak laki-laki dan perempuan setelah dirawat dengan braket tipe SWLF selama 1 tahun. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat lebar lengkung gigi bertambah secara signifikan setelah 1 tahun pemakaian alat orthodonsi cekat SWLF dan lebar lengkung gigi anak laki-laki lebih besar dibandingkan anak perempuan setelah 1 tahun pemakaian alat cekat teknik SWLF. ABSTRACT Orthodontic treatment aims to improve the pattern of dental arch and correction of malocclusion into ideal pattern. One of the things that affect the stability of teeth is the success of maintaining the shape of the dental arch. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of using fixed orthodontic with bracket-type SWLF to the dental arch width for boys and girls aged 11-14 years in RSGMP Prof. Soedomo FKG UGM. Subjects are 24 children aged 11-14 years who come to the Pedodontic clinic of RSGMP Prof Soedomo FKG UGM and SMP N 1 in Pakem, divided into 2 groups based on control and treatment groups as well as gender and meets the requirements of inclusion. Calculation of the size of the dental arch model of studies done on the mold by using calipers and a ruler based methods Arslan, et al (2007) before and after 1 year of treatment. Statistical analysis using the Test Paired t-test. The result showed that the size of the dental arch width significantly different (p <0.05) in the inter canines, inter premolars and inter molar both the boys and girls after being treated with a bracket-type SWLF for 1 year. The conclusion of this study is that there is wide dental arch increased significantly after 1 year using fixed orthodontic with bracket-type SWLF and boys dental arch width larger than girls after one year of using fixed orthodontic with bracket-type SWLF.
