Gerakan masyarakat adat Batak Toba menggunakan identitas masyarakat adat sebagai identitas kolektif untuk mencapai tujuan bersama. Melalui proses negosiasi dan interaksi yang terus menerus dan mempertimbangkan sistem peluang dan tantangan di mana mereka bertindak secara bersama-sama.
This Thesis about Collective Movement of Toba Batak Indigenous Community for existential recognition and Customary Rights at Pandumaan ang Sipituhuta Villages, Pollung District, Humbang Hasundutan-North Sumatera to obtain a recognition and customary rights. In June 2009, PT Toba Pulp Lestari, a big pulp industry at Toba Samosir District, has been cut down incense syntrax.Sp, and planted eucalyptus in customary land of Pandumaan and Sipituhuta community. The community, assisted by KSPPM, an non government organization in North Sumatra, and some organization, to develop a collective movement. The collective movement use indigenous people as a collective identity. This thesis explain the revival history of Movement of Toba Batak indigenous community, construction process and several efforts that empowering their collective identity as a indigenous community, dynamics of interaction, identification we and others and how to keep a solidarity over time. The Collective Movement of Toba Batak Indigenous community use their collective identity through negotiation and interaction processes in a field of challenge and advantage system. Stakeholders that involved in the movement constructing a share identity to obtain existence and their customary land.
