Dalam distribusi Saluran Udara Tegangan Mengengah (SUTM) 20kV diperlukan keandalan sistem yang tinggi karena sering sekali terdapat gangguan yang mengakibatkan penurunan mutu pelayanan dalam penyaluran tenaga listrik kepada pelanggan. Keandalan sistem yang tinggi tidak lepas dari peralatan proteksi yang digunakan sebagai pengaman peralatan dan sistem dari gangguan yang terjadi. Recloser merupakan peralatan pengaman yang dapat mendeteksi arus lebih dimana recloser ini dapat memutus arus dan menutup kembali secara otomatis yang dikarenakan gangguan antara fasa dengan fasa atau fasa dengan tanah. Dua buah recloser yang terpasang pada penyulang harus dapat bekerja dan berkoordinasi dengan baik, sehingga ketika gangguan terjadi dapat mengurangi daerah padam. Setting koordinasi antara dua buah recloser dilakukan dengan cara mengatur relay pada recloser yang ditujukan untuk menjaga relay agar tetap bekerja sesuai dengan setting dan fungsinya masing�masing. Mengingat pentingnya koordinasi ini, maka pengaturan relai proteksi recloser harus tepat agar saat terjadi gangguan tidak merusakan peralatan SUTM 20kV.

Setting the coordination between the two Recloser done by arranging relay on Recloser intended to keep the relay in order to continue to work according to the settings and functions of each. Given the importance of this coordination, the Recloser protection relay settings should be appropriate to the event of disruption does not damage the devices SUTM 20kV.
