Dinamika Konsep Diri Pada Penyandang Psoriasis Usia Dewasa Awal

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami gambaran dinamika konsep diri pada penyandang psoriasis usia dewasa awal beserta faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Penelitian ini melibatkan lima subjek, dengan pembagian tiga subjek primer dan dua significant others. Subjek pada penelitian ini merupakan penyandang psoriasis yang memiliki tipe yang sama yaitu psoriasis vulgaris dan scalp. Ketiga subjek memperoleh diagnosis psoriasis ketika memasuki usia dewasa awal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa konsep diri penyandang psoriasis dapat dilihat melalui gambaran diri yang sebenarnya mencakup aspek fisik, psikologis, sosial, religi, serta gambaran diri ideal yang mencakup harapan dan tujuan yang dimaknai secara berbeda oleh ketiga subjek. Setiap subjek menyikapi penyakitnya secara berbeda namun memiliki penerimaan diri yang cenderung positif. Tugas perkembangan usia dewasa awal dapat dijalani meski terhambat oleh penyakit. Konsep diri ketiga subjek dipengaruhi oleh keluarga, hubungan interpersonal, pengalaman dengan pasangan, keterlibatan dalam kelompok sosial, Komunitas Peduli Psoriasis Indonesia, dan manajemen diri berdasarkan pengalaman.

The aim of this research was to understand the dynamic of self concept among people with psoriasis in early adulthood, included the factors that have influence to their self concept. This research involved five respondents, consisted of three primary respondents and two significant others. The primary respondents were people with psoriasis with the same type of psoriasis, namely vulgaris psoriasis and scalp psoriasis. Those three respondents got their first diagnose of psoriasis when they have entered early adulthood. The method of this research was qualitative methodology with study case approach. The results showed that self concept among people with psoriasis could be seen in the real self which were included of physical aspect, psychological aspect, social aspect, religiosity, and also ideal self included of hopes and the goal of life, which were interpreted differently by three respondents. Every respondents had their own way to deal with the illness, but they tended positive self acceptance of it. Developmental tasks in early adulthood could be done even though hampered by illness sometimes. The self concept of three respondents was influenced by family, interpersonal relationship, love experience, involvement in social groups, The Support Group of People with Psoriasis, and also self management based on experience.
