PENGARUH HANDOVER TERHADAP KINERJA QOS UNTUK LAYANAN VOIP PADA JARINGAN WIMAX

Dalam komunikasi jaringan nirkabel khususnya ketika mobile station melakukan mobilitasnya dan mempertahankan koneksi tetap terjaga ketika melakukan peralihan secara otomatis service layanan antar base station untuk VoIP, diperlukan suatu metode handover yang menjamin komunikasi tetap nyaman tanpa terkendala jarak base station dan kecepatan dari suatu mobile station. Kenyamanan berkomunikasi selama melakukan handover terletak pada quality of service yang menyediakan tingkat jaminan layanan berbeda-beda dalam mengatur dan memberikan prioritas trafik pada jaringan pada mobile station untuk aplikasi voice over IP (VoIP) yang memanfaatkan jaringan internet. Penelitian ini menggunakan jaringan WiMAX untuk mengetahui pengaruh handover terhadap kinerja parameter quality of service untuk layanan voice over internet protocol ketika memasuki area kritis sinyal dengan kecepatan konstan. Disimulasikan menggunakan optimized network engineering tools (OPNET) 14.5 modeler educational. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian yang dilakukan menggunakan metode hard handover dan soft handover untuk aplikasi voice over internet protocol, diperoleh hasil rata-rata jitter yang lebih baik untuk kecepatan 65 km/jam dibandingkan kecepatan 20 km/jam. Pada kecepatan 85 km/jam menggunakan metode soft handover untuk 3 user nilai rata-rata delay 26.6 millidetik, dan berpengaruh terhadap hasil akhir jitter adalah 0.0032 millidetik. Output throughput terlalu rendah sehingga mengindikasikan bahwa throughput tidak berpengaruh terhadap aplikasi yang digunakan.

In wireless communication network especially when mobile station carried out its mobility and maintained the stabilization of connection while there is automatically changes in services between base station for mobile station, handover method is needed to guarantee the comfortable of communication without having obstacle in the distance of base station and the speed of mobile station. The comfortable of communication during handover is depend on the quality of service that provide the difference level of service in arranging and giving the traffic priority in the network in mobile station for voice over IP (VoIP) application that using internet network. This research used wimax network to know the influence of handover towards the performance parameter quality of service for voice over internet protocol services when entering the critical area with the constant speed. Simulated used optimized network engineering tools (OPNET) 14.5 modeler educational. Based on the testing that was carried out for hard handover and soft handover method used voice over internet protocol application,has obtained value jitter is better for the speed 65 km/hour than for the speed 20 km/hour. In the speed 85 km/hour using soft handover for 3 users the value delay is 26.6 millisecond, and it is influence to final jitter result 0.0032 millisecond. Output throughput that too low and indicate that throughput is not sensitive towards the application that was used
