Perbedaan Ekspresi Interleukin 6 Jaringan Berdasarkan Keparahan Adenokarsinoma Kolorektal Sesuai Kriteria Dukes

Latar belakang Interleukin-6 (IL-6) adalah sitokin pleitropik yang diproduksi oleh sel tumor yang berfungsi sebagai faktor pertumbuhan. Sel kanker kolorektal memproduksi IL-6 sehingga peningkatan IL-6 di mukosa colon merupakan suatu tanda pertumbuhan sel yang berlebihan. Stadium kanker menjadi salah satu faktor penentu keparahan adenokarsinoma kolorektal tetapi belum jelas apakah ekspresi yang berlebihan dari IL-6 jaringan kanker kolorektal terkait erat dengan tingkat keparahan ini. Tujuan Penelitian: Untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan ekspresi interleukin 6 jaringan berdasarkan keparahan adenokarsinoma kolorektal sesuai kriteria Dukes di RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta Metode: Penelitian dengan desain cross sectional dan subyek berupa preparat biopsi reseksi tumor adenokarsinoma kolorektal yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan esklusi. Analisis statistik menggunakan Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) 20.0 for Windows. Hasil Penelitian Dari 56 sampel penelitian, didapatkan rerata usia pasien 56,4 +- 12,5 tahun, terdiri dari subyek laki-laki 31 (56,3%) dan perempuan 25 (43,6%) orang. Nilai median ekspresi IL-6 jaringan sebesar 0,905 (0,262-0,990). Dari tingkat keparahan (stadium), sebanyak 29 (51,8 %) adenokarsinoma kolorektal bersifat lokal (Dukes A/B) dan sebanyak 27 (48,2%) melibatkan penyebaran limfonodi (Dukes C). Tidak ditemukan perbedaan persentase IL-6 yang bermakna antara masing-masing kelompok keparahan adenokarsinoma kolorektal berdasarkan kriteria Dukes (p=0,718). Kesimpulan : Tidak terdapat perbedaan ekspresi interleukin 6 jaringan berdasarkan keparahan adenokarsinoma kolorektal sesuai kriteria Dukes

Background Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a pleiotropic cytokine produced by tumor cell that act as growth factor. Colorectal cancer can produce IL-6 as a consequence there is a raising of IL-6 level in colon mucosa that is showing excessive development of cell. Tumor stage is one of prognostic factors influencing the severity of colorectal cancer but it is unclear that increase of IL-6 expression in colorectal cancer is related to the tumor stage. Objectives : to find out the difference of tissue expression of IL-6 based on colorectal adenocarcinoma severity by Dukes criteria in Sardjito Hospital Yogyakarta Methods : this study design was cross sectional and the subjects of this study were the resection preparation of colorectal tissue biopsies from all patients with colorectal adenocarcinoma with tissue samples sent to the department of Anatomical Pathology Dr. Sardjito Hospital that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Statistical analysis was done with Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) 20.0 for Windows. Results : 56 samples of this study had been analysed. They consisted of 31 (56.3%) male subjects and 25 (43.6%) female subjects with mean age of 56.4 +- 12.5 years old. The median value of interleukin 6 expression in colon tissue was 0,905 (0,262-0,990). In all 55 samples, we found 29 (51.8%) samples were localized colorectal adnocarcinoma (Dukes A/B) and 27 (48.2%) samples were spreading to the lymph nodes (Dukes C). We found no difference between tissue IL-6 expresion and colorectal carcinoma severity based on Dukes criteria (p=0.718). Conclusion: we found no difference of tissue IL-6 expresion based on colorectal carcinoma severity by Dukes criteria
