Optimasi Formula Krim W/O Ekstrak Etanolik Kulit Pisang Ambon (Musa paradisiaca L.) Dengan Variasi Kombinasi Span 80 dan Mineral Oil

Berdasarkan penelitian terdahulu, ekstrak etanolik kulit pisang ambon (Musa paradisiaca L.) terbukti memiliki aktivitas untuk mempercepat penyembuhan luka. Penggunaan ekstrak tersebut dapat dipermudah dengan memformulasikannya dalam bentuk krim w/o. Kombinasi span 80 dan mineral oil diharapkan dapat memperoleh sifat fisik krim yang lebih baik. Span 80 merupakan emulgator sedangkan mineral oil berfungsi sebagai emollient. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kombinasi span 80 dan mineral oil yang optimum dalam sediaan krim dan untuk mengetahui valid tidaknya prediksi sifat fisik formula optimum dari software dengan sifat fisik formula optimum dari hasil percobaan. Ekstrak etanolik kulit pisang ambon dibuat dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 70%. Penelitian dilakukan dengan software Design Expert menggunakan metode SLD (Simplex Lattice Design). Produk yang diperoleh dari delapan run (formula) diuji sifat fisiknya. Hasil analisis data yang signifikan digunakan untuk menentukan formula optimum. Hasil formula optimum diuji sifat fisiknya kemudian dilakukan uji verifikasi dengan one simple t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa formula optimum diperoleh dengan komposisi span 80 sebesar 5,05% dan mineral oil sebesar 47,95%. Uji verifikasi menghasilkan nilai signifikansi lebih dari 0,05 yang artinya tidak berbeda signifikan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa respon hasil prediksi software valid terhadap respon hasil percobaan. Based on previous research, ethanolic extract of banana peel (Musa paradisiaca L.) has been shown to have an acceleration effect on wound healing. The extract can be easily used by formulating into W/O cream. Span 80 and mineral oil combination is expected to obtain the better physical properties of cream. Span 80 act as an emulsifier, while mineral oil has function as an emollient. This research aims to obtain the optimum span 80 and mineral oil combination for W/O cream preparation of banana peel ethanolic extract (Musa paradisiaca L.) and to validate the optimum results by using software against the results by experiment. Ethanolic extract of banana peel was obtained by maceration method applying 70% ethanol. Experiments were conducted by Design Expert software using SLD (Simplex Lattice Design) method. Products were obtained from eight run (formulas) and their physical properties tested. Data showing significant result was then used to determine the optimum formula. The optimum formula result physical properties was tested and then verified by applying one simple t-test. This one simple t-test showed the significance prediction of formula physical properties by using software and by using experiment. The results showed that the optimum formula is obtained with the combination of span 80 and mineral oil amounted to 5,05% and 47,95%, respectively. Verification test generated significance value greater than 0,05, which means do not significantly different. This proved that the response of software prediction is valid compared to the response of experiment. Keywords : banana, w/o cream, SLD
