Bentuk penghormatan atau pemberian penghargaan kepada seseorang berdasarkan jabatan atau posisi yang diatur dalam sistem keprotokolan merupakan salah satu bentuk bahwa negara tersebut memiliki moral sekaligus juga sebagai wujud nyata diplomasi luar negeri suatu negara. Sebagai instansi pelaksana diplomasi dan politik luar negeri Indonesia, Kementerian Luar Negeri RI melalui Direktorat Protokol memfungsikan hal tersebut sebagai tim protokol Kemlu, juga sebagai tim protokol Negara.

In honor or award to someone based on title or position which set out in the system of the protocol is one of the forms that the state has a moral as well as a tangible manifestation of a country's foreign diplomacy. As an implementing agency of diplomacy and foreign policy of Indonesia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Directorate of Protocol functioning as a team of protocol at Ministry Foreign Affairs, as well as state protocol team.
