Tugas akhir ini merupakan terjemahan cerita Tori Ya Doobutsu No Fushigi dan Mi No Mawari No Fushigi dari buku Kagaku Naze Dooshite Karya Kenzo Hisamichi. Tori Ya Doobutsu No Fushigi dan Mi No Mawari No Fushigi adalah dua subjudul dalam buku tersebut yang menjelaskan tentang beberapa kekhasan yang dimiliki hewan dan yang terdapat di lingkungan sekitar. Isi cerita yang menarik menjadi salah satu alasan penulis untuk menerjemahkan cerita ini, selain itu juga dapat menambah pengetahuan penulis dan pembaca tentang hal yang terjadi di dalam hewan dan lingkungan sekitar. Dalam cerita Tori Ya Doobutsu No Fushigi ini dijelaskan kekhasan yang dimiliki hewan, misalnya alasan mata kucing menyala pada malam hari dan dalam cerita Mi No Mawari No Fushigi dijelaskan alasan gelas plastik sering digunakan dalam kehidupan, dan lain- lain. Penulis menggunakan metode komunikatif untuk menerjemahkan cerita ini. Metode komunikatif adalah metode yang menerjemahkan makna kontekstual bahasa sumber setepat mungkin, sehingga isi cerita langsung dapat dipahami oleh pembaca. Terdapat empat tahap dalam proses penerjemahan yang dilakukan penulis, yaitu: Analisis, Pengalihan Pesan, Restrukturisasi dan Penghalusan cerita.

This final assignment is a translation of Tori Ya Doobutsu No Fushigi and Mi No Mawari No Fushigi from Kagaku Naze Dooshite book written by Kenzo Hisamichi. Tori Ya Doobutsu No Fushigi and Mi No Mawari No Fushigi is two sub-titles in that book which explains about some characteristics of animal in the environment around us. The interesting story in this book becomes one of the reasons for the writer to translate this book. In addition, this story able to increase the writer and the reader knowledge about animal and surroundings. In the story of Tori Ya Doobutsu No Fushigi is explained the characteristic of animal, for example the reason why the eye of cat is shining in the night and also in the story of Mi No Mawari No Fushigi is explained why the glass from plastic is often to use in the daily life. The writer uses communicative method to explain this story, communicative method is a method which translates the contextual meaning of the source language as proper as possible. Thus, the story contents are able to understand by readers directly. There are four steps in the process of translation, those are: Analysis, Transfer message, Restructuring and Rarefaction the story.
