Praktik Pelatihan Public Speaking di Yogyakarta(Studi kasus praktik pelatihan public speaking di Lusy Laksita Broadcasting School (LLBS) dan Eureka Consultant pada Tahun 2015

Penelitian ini akan membahas mengenai praktik pelatihan public speaking yang ada di Yogyakarta melalui studi kasus dengan objek Lusy Laksita Broadcasting School (LLBS) dan Eureka Consultant. Keduanya telah banyak dikenal di Yogyakarta dan memiliki kelas pelatihan yang telah berjalan selama lebih dari 4 tahun serta sangat sering memberikan pelatihan public speaking. Namun, bagaimana sesungguhnya pelatihan tersebut dilakukan oleh LLBS dan Eureka Consultant hingga saat ini belum banyak diketahui, karena mereka tidak pernah secara serta merta memberikan informasi mendetail mengenai aktivitas di dalam kelas pelatihan ini kepada masyarakat luas. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini kemudian meneliti bagaiamana praktik pelatihan public speaking dilakukan oleh Lusy Laksita Broadcasting School (LLBS) dan Eureka Consultant. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui proses pelatihan public speaking yang dilakukan di dalam kelas pelatihan yang dikelola oleh LLBS dan Eureka Consultant dan menganalisis cara LLBS dan Eureka Consultant melakukan pengelolaan terhadap kelas pelatihan public speakingnya. Penelitian ini pun dilakukan dengan menggunakan studi kasus dan mengacu kepada Teori Retorika Aristoteles dan buku The Art of Public Speaking milik Stephen E. Lucas. Melalui penelitian ini, peneliti berhasil mengungkapkan praktik pelatihan tersebut dimulai dari cara pengelolaan, konsep pelatihan, materi, hasil yang diharapkan, pendukung teknis yang digunakan, audiens, pelatih, hingga dinamika yang ada di dalam kelas pelatihan tersebut. Hingga akhirnya diketahui bahwa dalam mengadakan pelatihan public speaking diperlukan tim pengelola pelatihan yang menghubungkan pelatih dengan peserta diluar kelas serta menjawadkan kelas. Konsep pelatihan di dalam kelas pelatihan public speaking harus berorientasi kepada praktik dan materi yang disampaikan cenderung mengarah kepada seni melakukan public speaking daripada public speaking sebagai sebuah ilmu. Sehingga, pelatih yang melakukan pelatihan pun dilihat bukan berdasarkan pendidikan formalnya, melainkan berdasarkan pengalaman dan kemampuanya saja.

This research will discuss about the practice of public speaking training class in Lusy Laksita Broadcasting School (LLBS) and Eureka Consultant . Both of them have been known in Yogyakarta since 4 years ago and have been doing a lot of training class. But, the information about their class activity were unknown, because they were never published their activities inside their class. Based on that reasons, this research tried to unmask the practice of public speaking class in LLBS and Eureka Consultant. The objective of this research were knowing the proccess of public speaking class activities and analyze how they managed their public speaking class. Therefore, to accomplished the objectives, researcher used the Rhetoric Theory by Aristotle and the book titled The Art of Public Speaking by Stephen E. Lucas as the main reference. Through this research, researcher revealed the activities of public speaking class, started from their public speaking class management, the training concept, lesson, the expected result, technical support, audience, trainer, until the dynamic inside the training class. The result of this research showed, that to created a new public speaking class, LLBS and Eureka Consultant need a team called management team to took over their jobs to facilitate the needs of trainers and audience in the class and made the schedule of the class. The training concept basically must be practice oriented and the lesson in the class tend to learned as art than as science. That was the reason LLBS and Eureka Consultant was choosing their trainer only based on their skills and experience, not based on their formal education background.
