PERTUMBUHAN PRASAPIH KELINCI FLEMISH GIANT DAN REX

Penelitian ini menggunakan sepuluh ekor induk kelinci dan 46 ekor kelinci prasapih. yang terdiri atas 22 ekor anak kelinci dari bangsa Flemish Giant dan 24 ekor anak kelinci dari bangsa Rex, yang berasal dari lima ekor induk Flemish Giant dan lima ekor induk Rex. Anak kelinci dipelihara bersama induknya dari lahir sampai umur 42 hari. Data yang diamati meliputi litter size, bobot lahir, pertambahan bobot badan harian (PBBH), dan mortalitas anak. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis variansi pola searah. Khusus untuk PBBH, dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis kovariansi, dengan bobot badan awal sebagai kovariat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa litter size, bobot lahir individu, bobot lahir total kelinci Flemish Giant dan Rex berturut-turut adalah 4,40±1,14 dan 4,80±1,79 ekor, 29,09±10,65 dan 37,50±12,25 gram, 128,00±44,38 dan 180,00±71,76 gram. Litter size kelinci Flemish Giant dan Rex berbeda tidak nyata. Bobot lahir individu kelinci Flemish Giant lebih rendah (P<0,05) daripada kelinci Rex, akan tetapi bobot lahir total kelinci Flemish Giant dan Rex berbeda tidak nyata. PBBH individu, PBBH total kelinci, dan mortalitas anak Flemish Giant dan Rex berturut-turut adalah 11,46±3,69 dan 8,38±2,39 gram/ekor anak, 37,43±14,58 dan 35,90±13,67 gram/ekor induk/hari, 38,00±22,47 dan 24,86±28,35 %. PBBH individu kelinci Flemish Giant lebih tinggi daripada kelinci Rex (P<0,05), akan tetapi PBBH total kelinci Flemish Giant dan Rex berbeda tidak nyata. Mortalitas anak kelinci Flemish Giant dan Rex berbeda tidak nyata. Disimpulkan bahwa pertumbuhan prasapih kelinci Flemish Giant lebih baik daripada kelinci Rex.
This study was conducted to observe pre-weaning growth of Flemish Giant and Rex kittens rabbit. Ten head of does and 46 head of kittens used in this study. They consist of 22 head of kittens from Flemish Giant rabbit and 24 head of kittens from Rex rabbit. Those kittens were derived from five Flemish Giant does and five Rex does. Kittens were cared together with their does for 42 days since they were born. The data collection included litter size, birth weight, average daily gain (ADG), and infant mortality. The data were analyzed using One Way Analysis of Variance. Special for ADG, it was analyzed using analysis of covariance, with initial weight as covariate. Litter size, individual birth weight, and total birth weight of Flemish Giant and Rex rabbits were 4,40±1,14 and 4,80±1,79 rabbits, 29,09±10,65 and 37,50±12,25 grams, 128,00±44,38 and 180,00±71,76 grams, respectively. The litter size between Flemish Giant and Rex rabbits was no significant different. Individual birth weight of Flemish Giant kittens was lower (P<0,05) than that of Rex kittens. However there was no significant difference in total birth weight between them. Individual ADG, total ADG, and infant mortality of Flemish Giant and Rex kittens were 11,46±3,69 and 8,38±2,39 grams/rabbit, 37,43±14,58 and 35,90±13,67 grams/rabbit/day, and 38,00±22,47 and 24,86±28,35 %, respectively. Individual ADG of Flemish Giant kittens was higher than that of Rex kittens. However there were no significant different in total ADG between them. There was no significant difference in infant mortality between them. It is concluded that the pre-weaning growth performance of Flemish Giant kittens is better than that of Rex kittens.
