KETERTARIKAN MAHASISWA MENJADI CASUAL WORKER (Studi Kasus terhadap Pekerja Casual di Kebun Raya Kebun Binatang Gembiraloka )

ABSTRAK Penelitian skripsi ini dimaksudkan untuk menganalisis ketertarikan seorang mahasiswa memilih untuk bekerja sebagai casual worker, serta mengidentifikasi alasan para mahasiswa mau bekerja casual di Gemiraloka Zoo, sebagai pekerjaan sampingan mereka, dan mendiskripsikan kemungkinan dan konsekuensi atas pilihan kerja tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, dengan hasil penelitian yang dideskripsikan melalui narasi untuk menjawab yang menjadi rumusan masalah penelitian yakni : mengapa casual worker yang berstatus mahasiswa tertarik bekerja di Gembiraloka Zoo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui alasan alasan mahasiswa memilih bekerja sebagai casual worker di Gembiraloka Zoo, untuk itu Teori Pilihan Rasional digunakan untuk mengetahui alasan - alasan tersebut.Dari hasil penelitian tersebut didapatkan penjelasan tentang faktor - faktor mengenai pekerjaan casual worker yang digunakan sebagai alat untuk memenuhi kebutuhan - kebutuhan seorang mahasiswa. Yogyakarata merupakan kota pelajar yang didalamnya terdapat para pelajar yang berasal dari berbagai macam suku bangsa yang ada di Indonesia. Walaupun hakikatnya seorang mahasiswa adalah seseorang yang mencari ilmu, namun dengan pemanfaatan waktu luang karena seorang mahasiswa yang aktif masih mempunyai tugas utama adalah kuliah.Selain kuliah kegiatan organisasi dan kegiatan diluar kampus masih menjadi kegiatan mahasiswa. Masing-masing mahasiswa memiliki berbagai macam alasan sehingga mendorong mereka bekerja sebagai pekerja casual, berbagai macam alasan tersebut adalah, alasan ekonomi, motif aktualisasi diri, relasi, dan sumber daya atau kapasitas yang dimiliki sebagai seorang mahasiswa. Dengan cara bekerja sebagai casual di Gembiraloka Zoo mahasiswa dapat bekerja dengan mempertimbangkan konsukensi seperti dapat membagi waktu antara kuliah, bekerja dan mengikuti kegiatan lainnya. Pilihan seorang mahasiswa memilih untuk bekerja sebagai pekerja casual di Gembiraloka Zoo juga membawa dampak, yakni dampak positif dan negatif, dampak positif yang didapatkan diantaranya sebagai media aktualisasi diri, pengembangan karakter, media berjejarng sosial dan media penghasilan tambahan bagi mahasiswa, disamping dampak positif dampak negatif juga juga dialami oleh pekerja casual yakni berupa, minimnya waktu istirahat, tidak adanya jaminan sosial, resiko tertular penyakit hewan, dan resiko kecelakaan kerja akibat ulah hewan.

Thesis research is intended to analyze the interest of a student chooses to work as a casual worker, and to identify the reasons students want to work casual in Gemiraloka Zoo, as their side job, and describing the possibilities and consequences of the selection work. This research is a descriptive qualitative study, with the results described through narrative to answer the formulation of research problems namely: why casual worker with the status of students interested in working in Gembiraloka Zoo. This study aims to find out the reason - the reason students choose to work as a casual worker in Gembiraloka Zoo, to the Rational Choice Theory is used to find out the reason - the reason. From the results of these studies found an explanation of the factors - factors concerning the employment of casual workers is used as a tool to meet the needs - the needs of a student. Yogyakarata a university town in which there are students who come from various ethnic groups in Indonesia. Although essentially a student is someone who seek knowledge, but with the use of free time as an active student still has the main task is to college. In addition to lectures and activities of the organization's activities outside the campus is still a student activity. Each student has a variety of reasons that drove them to work as casual workers; various reasons are, for economic reasons, motives of self-actualization, relationships, and resources or the capacity as a student. By working as casual in Gembiraloka Zoo student can work by considering such konsukensi can divide their time between school, work and other activities follow. Option a student chooses to work as a casual worker in Gembiraloka Zoo also had an impact, the positive and negative impact, positive impact gained media such as self-actualization, character development, social media and media berjejarng extra income for students, in addition to the positive impact of negative impact also experienced by casual workers in the form, the lack of time off, absence of social security, the risk of contracting animal diseases, and the risk of workplace accidents induced animals.
