INFEKSI PARASIT GASTROINTESTINAL PADA SAPI DI DAERAH ISTIMEWA YOGYAKARTA YANG DIPERIKSA DI BBVET SELAMA TAHUN 2013

Infestasi parasit merupakan salah satu penyebab penyakit yang sering terjadi pada sapi.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang parasit gastrointestinal yang menyerang sapi di DIY pada tahun 2013.Untuk tujuan tersebut, data diambil dari Balai Besar Veteriner, Wates.Materi peneltian ini menggunakan feses sapi yang berjumlah 1685 sampel dari Gunungkidul, Kulon Progo, Sleman, dan Bantul.Metode pemeriksaan dilakukan dengan metode sedimentasi dan metode whitlock.Data yang diperoleh ditabulasikan dan selanjutnya dianalisis secara deskriptif. Dari hasil pemeriksaan ditemukan parasit Fasciola sp. yaitu sebesar 35,8%, diikuti Strongyloides sp. 13%, Oesophagostomum 9,0%, Ostertagia 7,5%, Moniezia sp 5,3%, Trichostrongylus 5,2%, Paramphistomum sp. 4,2%, dan Haemonchus 1,6%. Salah satu faktor untuk menambah kemajuan peternak adalah dengan adanya perbaikan manajemen kandang , sanitasi, dan kualitas pakan.

Parasite infestation is one of the cause diseases that occurs in cow. The research aims to find out the incidence of gastrointestinal parasite in cattle in Yogyakarta 2013. For that purpose, specimens from Balai Besar Veteriner, Wates were collected.This research used 1685 feces sample from Gunungkidul, Kulon progo, Sleman, and Bantul. The presence of gastrointestinal parasite was observed using sedimentation method and whitlock method. The obtained data were tabulated and analyzed descriptively. The result revealed that two parasite species were found in gastrointestine; Fasciola sp. 35,8%, Strongyloides sp. 13%, Oesophagostomum 9,0%, Ostertagia 7,5%, Moniezia sp 5,3%, Trichostrongylus 5,2%, Paramphistomum sp. 4,2%, dan Haemonchus 1,6%.Management cage hygiene, sanitation and quality of feed could be a factor to increase the cattle progress.
