Global Warming as a Threat to Human Security in the United States

Global warming is a process of rising average temperature on the atmosphere, sea and the mainland of the earth. It is considered today as capable of threatening a country is human security. Global warming and human security are important to addressing a specific threat to mankind and the nature by identifying the daily life issues and environmental degradation as security problems. The U.S. becomes important in the issues of global warming and human security, since there have been a number of global warming issues that may lead to a reorientation in U.S. policy. People in U.S. cities and towns are facing more extreme weather events such as heat waves and wildfires to flooding and fatal coastal storms. Longer, more intense effects that come from global warming threaten crop, wildlife and fresh water supplies that will wreak havoc on people is livelihood and communities in the United States. Diseases that are transmitted by food, water, and insects are increasing due to changing climate pattern as a result of global warming. In addition, global warming also causes social and economic consequences in the U.S. It can harm the physical components of U.S infrastructures which are necessary to run economic activity, safety, and other everyday life essentials. Extreme temperature changes may cause damage on roads, railways lines, and airport runways. It may result in overall slowdown of development in the U.S. as human activities become ineffective. The effects caused by global warming can be obstacles for U.S. citizens to achieve their welfare. Stable U.S. economic, political, social, and environmental systems are needed for people to fulfill their needs.
