Koksidiosis merupakan suatu penyakit yang disebabkan oleh infeksi protozoa. Tujuan penulisan tugas akhir ini adalah untuk mengetahui penyakit yang disebabkan oleh protozoa pada ayam dan cara mengidentifikasinya di Balai Besar Veteriner Wates Yogyakarta. Pengambilan data dilakukan di Laboratorium Epidemiologi dan identifikasi protozoa di Laboratorium Parasitologi pada tanggal 13-17 April 2015. Kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah mengetahui jumlah kejadian koksidiosis, jumlah sampel ayam kiriman yang masuk, jumlah sampel yang positif mengandung oosista koksidia dan mengetahui uji yang digunakan. Hasil pendataan yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa kasus koksidiosis pada ayam dari tahun 2010-2014 di Balai Besar Veteriner Wates Yogyakarta mengalami fluktuasi, hal ini terjadi karena kasus koksidiosis pada ayam normal, sehingga peternak tidak terlalu mengkhawatirkan. Akan tetapi tetap harus mendapat perhatian dan penanganan serius terhadap ayam yang telah terinfeksi.

Coccidiosis is a disease of protozoan infection. The purpose of this work is to find out the diseases in chicken caused by protozoa and how to identify it at Balai Besar Veteriner Wates, Yogyakarta. Data collection was performed at the Laboratory of Epidemiology, and identification of protozoa was done in Parasitology Laboratory on 13-17 April 2015. The activities are to know the incidence rate of coccidiosis, the number of chicken samples submitted, the number positive coccidian of sample and oocysts test used. Results of data collection conducted showed that cases of coccidiosis in chickens were more fluctuated than in 2010-2014 at Balai Besar Veteriner Wates, Yogyakarta. This occurs because coccidiosis in chickens is a normal case, so that farmers are not too worried about it. However, the infected chickens must still receive great attention and serious treatment.
