PERBEDAAN KETAHANAN FRAKTUR MAHKOTA ZIRKONIA PORSELEN DAN PORCELAIN FUSED TO METAL DENGAN FINISHING LINE CHAMFER DAN SHOULDER

Mahkota gigi tiruan porselen dengan koping harus dapat memperbaiki morfologi, kontur, serta melindungi jaringan gigi yang tersisa dari kerusakan lebih lanjut. Pemilihan koping dan desain finishing line yang sesuai merupakan hal penting dalam mempertahankan kinerja biomekanik serta ketahanan fraktur dari suatu mahkota gigi tiruan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perbedaan ketahanan fraktur antara zirkonia-porselen dan porcelain fused to metal dengan desain finishing line chamfer dan shoulder. Dua puluh empat subjek mahkota porselen dengan koping dibagi menjadi empat kelompok, yaitu kelompok mahkota zirkonia-porselen desain finishing line chamfer dan shoulder, serta kelompok mahkota porcelain fused to metal desain finishing line chamfer dan shoulder. Semua subyek kemudian diuji ketahanan fraktur menggunakan Universal Testing Machine (UTM) dengan single cyclic load hingga fraktur. Nilai ketahanan fraktur yang didapatkan kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji anava dua jalur, dan dilanjutkan dengan uji post hoc LSD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan bermakna ketahanan fraktur antara mahkota zirkonia-porselen desain finishing line chamfer dan shoulder dengan mahkota porcelain fused to metal desain finishing line chamfer dan shoulder (p< 0,05) , antara mahkota porcelain fused to metal desain finishing line chamfer dengan mahkota porcelain fused to metal desain finishing line shoulder (p< 0,05). Tidak ada perbedaan bermakna ketahanan fraktur antara mahkota zirkonia-porselen desain finishing line chamfer dan shoulder (p> 0,05). Kesimpulan penelitian adalah ketahanan fraktur mahkota zirkonia-porselen lebih baik daripada mahkota porcelain fused to metal. Ketahanan fraktur desain finishing line chamfer lebih baik daripada desain finishing line shoulder.

Dental crown should be able to restore morfology, contour, and protected the remaining dental structures from further damage. Proper core and finishing line design selection is important to maintain biomechanical performance and fracture resistance of dental crowns. This research aim to evaluates fracture resistance difference of zirconia porcelain and porcelain fused to metal crowns with chamfer and shoulder finishing line designs. Twenty four porcelain crowns with core subjects were devided into four groups; zirconia porcelain crowns with chamfer and shoulder finishing line designs, and porcelain fused to metal crowns with chamfer and shoulder finishing line designs. All subjects were tested using Universal Testing Machine (UTM) with single cyclic load until they were fractured. The data were analyzed with two-way ANOVA and post-hoc LSD. The results showed the significant difference between zirconia porcelain chamfer and shoulder finishing line with porcelain fused to metal crown chamfer and shoulder finishing line (p<0.05), also between porcelain fused to metal chamfer finishing line and porcelain fused to metal shoulder finishing line (p<0.05). There were no significant difference (p>0.05) between zirconia porcelain chamfer finishing line with zirconia porcelain shoulder finishing line. The conclusions are fracture resistance on zirconia porcelain crown was better than porcelain fused to metal crown. Fracture resistance on chamfer finishing line was better than shoulder finishing line.
