PERAN LEMBAGA PENDIDIKAN DALAM MEMBENTUK KARAKTER CALON PERWIRA ANGKATAN UDARA YANG BERKUALITAS DAN IMPLIKASINYA TERHADAP KETAHANAN PRAJURIT (STUDI DI WING TARUNA AKADEMI ANGKATAN UDARA YOGYAKARTA)

INTISARI Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi dan upaya-upaya Wingtar AAU dalam membentuk karakter calon perwira Angatan Udara yang berkualitas serta mengetahui implikasi karakter perwira Angkatan Udara terhadap ketahanan prajurit. Metode yang dipergunakan untuk membahas penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dimana data-data primer diperoleh melalui wawancara langsung dan observasi sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dari studi pustaka. Peran Wingtar AAU dalam membentuk karakter calon perwira Angkatan Udara yang berkualitas dilakukan melalui 3 cara. Pertama, meninjau/meneliti organisasi Wingtar AAU (tinjauan terhadap tujuan dan sasaran, kurikulum, pengasuh Wingtar, core value, sarana dan prasarana serta piranti lunak (dasar-dasar yang mendukung). Kedua, meninjau peran para pejabat/komandan Wingtar AAU. Ketiga, meninjau kebijakan membangun karakter perwira Angkatan Udara yang berkualitas meliputi kegiatan pengajaran, latihan dan pengasuhan Peran Wingtar AAU dalam membentuk karakter calon perwira AU yang berkualitas kurang berhasil. Peran Wingtar AAU tersebut kurang berhasil terutama disebabkan oleh adanya faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi yaitu kekerasan masih terjadi karena interpretasi Taruna yang berlebih terhadap korp, pengasuh belum memenuhi Daftar Susunan Personel (DSP), dan kekurangan sarana pengawasan. Upaya mengatasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tersebut melalui keteladanan, penambahan Pengasuh dan peningkatan kualitas pengasuh serta penambahan sarana pengawasan berupa CCTV. Upaya-upaya tersebut belum maksimal sehingga karakter perwira Angkatan Udara masih kurang berkualitas yang berimplikasi terhadap kurangnya ketahanan beberapa prajurit. ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the role, influence of factors and efforts of Air force Academy Cadetâ Wing (AACW) in order to build character to the the capability of the Air Force officer candidate and the implications of characters Air Force officer candidate for soldier resilience. The methods used to address these research was using qualitative descriptive method, where the primary data obtained through interview sand observations and secondary data obtained from the literature. The role of AACW to build character to the capability of the Air Force officer candidate was conducted through three ways. First, reviewing/ researching Air force Academy Cadetâ��s Wing organization (overview of the goals and objectives, curriculum, care giver cadetâ��s wing, core values, infrastructure and software/ fundamentals that support the effect). Second, review the role of AACW officials/ commanders. Third, reviewing policies build character quality of Air Force officer who covers the activities of teaching, training and parenting The role of AACW to build character to the capability of the Air Force officer candidate was less successful. The role of the AACW less successful to the quality of mainly due to the presence of the main influence of factors the interpretation of the excess of the corps of cadets, and no major constraints such as the limitations of the organization, the care giver has not met List of Personnel (LOP), Midshipman background, character development officer Air Force quality results are notimmediate seen and lack of Closed Circuit Television. Efforts too vercome these constraints by example, filing Care giver addition to the above command, use another position, executing officer course scare givers, care givers if the delay has not passed the selection as an anny, and the use off parenting techniques. These effort shave not been up that several character Air Force officers are still lacking in quality with implications for the lack of robustness of several soldiers.
