MAKNA OPTIMISTIS DALAM EMPAT LIRIK LAGU KARYA JIKUSTIK: ANALISIS KRITIK PRAKTIS ROBERT MILLAR DAN IAN CURRIE

Penelitian berjudul Makna Optimistis dalam Empat Lirik Lagu Karya Jikustik: Analisis Kritik Praktis Robert Millar dan Ian Currie ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan pentingnya makna optimistis dalam lirik lagu yang hadir di tengah-tengah masyarakat. Makna optimistis perlu mendapatkan tempat di setiap hati masyarakat agar di dalam kehidupan sehari-hari selalu bersikap serta berpikir positif (optimis) sehingga berdampak pada kehidupan sehari-hari yang diharapkan, yaitu tidak dipenuhi dengan berbagai masalah sosial karena adanya sikap pesimistis. Makna optimistis yang diteliti hadir melalui empat lirik lagu Jikustik beraliran sweet-pop yang diteliti. Sebagai produk musik populer, maka empat lirik lagu Jikustik dikonsumsi oleh banyak masyarakat. Hal itu juga dipengaruhi oleh lirik lagu Jikustik yang bertema dekat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat, yaitu tema persahabatan dan tema romantika percintaan. Penelitian ini juga untuk memaparkan hal-hal yang cukup signifikan mengenai hubungan dan kesamaan ciri puisi dengan lirik lagu sebagai bentuk kajian sastra populer, yaitu lirik lagu sebagai puisi. Penelitian ini membuka peluang besar bagi bidang seni di luar sastra seperti seni musik yang berupa lirik lagu untuk dikolaborasikan dengan ciri serta hakikat puisi lalu dibedah dengan pisau analisis sastra sehingga dengan hal ini mampu merangsang juga lahirnya kajian-kajian mutakhir dalam bentuk lain yang bersifat kolaboratif atau multidisipliner. Makna optimistis dalam empat lirik lagu karya Jikustik yang diteliti menggunakan pemaknaan total (total significance) Robert Millar dan Ian Currie dalam teorinya kritik praktis (practical criticism). Pemaknaan total tersebut memang secara total membedah empat lirik lagu yang diteliti, tetapi tetap disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan agar tidak terlalu luas dan memburamkan makna optimistis yang ada dalam lirik lagu sebagai puisi. Tiga elemen dalam pemaknaan total Robert Millar dan Ian Currie antara lain elemen bunyi, elemen kebahasaan, dan elemen pemaknaan. Elemen-elemen tersebut secara berkesinambungan bersatu untuk mengungkapkan makna optimistis. Diksi atau pemilihan kata menjadi hal yang penting dalam penelitian ini.

The study entitled "The Meaning of Optimistic in the Lyrics of Jikustik's Four Songs: Practical Criticism Analysis of Robert Millar and Ian Currie" aims at explaining the importance of optimistic meaning in the lyrics that are present in the midst of society. The meaning of optimistic needs to get a place in every heart of the community so that in daily life they always behave and think positively (optimistic) that have an impact on the expected daily life, which is not filled with a variety of social problems because of the pessimistic attitude. The meaning of optimistic studied is present through four Jikustik's song lyrics of sweet-pop homage genre. As a product of popular music, then four Jikustik song lyrics are consumed by many people. It was also influenced by Jikustik-themed lyrics close to people's everyday lives, which is the theme of friendship and romance. This study is also explain things quite significant about the relationship and similarity of poetry characteristics with song lyrics as a form of popular literature study, namely lyrics as poetry. This research opens great opportunities for the arts outside literature as an art form of music lyrics to collaborate with the characteristics and nature of poetry and literary analysis that is cut with a knife so that it is able to stimulate the birth of advanced studies in other forms of collaborative or multidisciplinary. The optimistic meaning in the lyrics of four songs by Jikustik studied using total significance of Robert Millar and Ian Currie in their theory of practical criticism. The total significance totally dissect four studied lyrics, but it is still adapted to the needs that are not too large and obscure the meaning of optimistic that exists in the lyrics as poetry. The three elements in the total significance of Robert Millar and Ian Currie among others are sound elements, linguistic elements, and meaning elements. These elements come together on an ongoing basis to express the meaning of optimistic. The diction or choice of words becomes important in this study.
