Kecepatan adalah faktor penting dalam berkendara. Semakin cepat kendaraan melaju maka resiko terjadinya kecelakaan semakin tinggi. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan sebuah alat yang mampu mengurangi resiko terjadinya kecelakaan tersebut. Salah satu cara untuk mengurangi resiko tersebut, maka dibuatlah alat pemantau kecepatan kendaraan berbasis arduino dengan komunikasi gsm. Alat ini menggunakan sensor optocoupler untuk menghasilkan data kecepatan yang diproses menggunakan arduino dan ditampilan oleh lcd dan icomsat v.1.1 GSM/GPRS Shield sebagai komunikasi sms. GSM dapat membantu memberikan sebuah peringatan melalui pesan singkat

Speed is an important factor in driving. The faster the vehicle drove the higher the risk of accidents. Therefore needed a tool that is able to reduce the risk of accidents. One of way to reduce the risk, then be made based on vehicle speed monitoring tool arduino with GSM communication. This tool uses sensors optocoupler to generaate velocity data are processed using arduino and is displayed by the LCD and icomsat v.1.1 GSM/GPRS Shield as SMS communication. GSM can help provide an alert via text message
