The French Operation Serval and Peace Process in Mali Conlict

Peran pihak ketiga dalam penggunaan kekuatan militer telah menjadi isu penting saat ini. Setelah akhir perang dingin, jumlah konflik intra negara menjadi relatif meningkat pada. Namun, beberapa studi kasus konflik intra negara telah dianggap sebagai internasionalisasi konflik yang ada keterlibatan pihak ketiga. Dengan meningkatnya isu terorisme dan pemberontakan, penelitian ini akan menguji intervensi militer Perancis di Mali yang lebih mungkin untuk mempengaruhi upaya perdamaian di Mali. Pertanyaan yang diajukan adalah tentang karakteristik tertentu intervensi militer asing yang bisa cukup kuat untuk menantang perdebatan mengenai intervensi militer pihak ketiga. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk menjawab tentang pertanyaan mengenai faktor-faktor yang diberikan pihak ketiga dalam hubungannya dengan proses perdamaian di Mali Konflik dengan Operasi Perancis Serval. Tulisan ini adalah sebuah analisis untuk memahami proses perdamaian krisis Mali pada tahun 2012.

The role of third party military power use has been a critical issue nowadays. After the end of the cold war, the number of intra state conflicts got a relatively increased on its number. However, some of the intra state conflict case study has been considered as internationalized conflict which there is third party involvement. In hand with the increasing issue on terrorism and insurgencies, this research will examines the French military intervention in Mali that are more likely to influence the peacemaking effort in Mali. The raised question is about the particular characteristics of foreign military intervention that can be strong enough to challenge the debates on third party military intervention. It seek to answer the ultimate question on what is the factors that the third party intervention gives in the relation with peace process in Mali Conflict. The French operation Serval, however gives me an opportunity to conduct an analysis to understand the peace process of Malian crisis in 2012.
