Partisipasi Aktif Cina di Wilayah Arktik

Isu Arktik menjadi penting dalam politik internasional kontemporer karena perubahan iklim, prediksi kekayaan sumber daya alam, perkembangan teknologi dan perkembangan jalur transportasi. Akibatnya, negara Arktik maupun non-Arktik mulai memperhatikan wilayah ini setelah sebelumnya menjadi perhatian internasional di era Perang Dingin. Cina adalah salah satu aktor negara yang berkembang di Arktik, dan telah berpartisipasi lebih aktif dibanding negara non-Arktik lain untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan di Arktik. Penting untuk memahami kepentingan Cina di wilayah tersebut untuk melihat potensi kerja sama maupun konflik yang ditimbulkan. Penelitian ini akan memahami kepentingan Cina di wilayah Arktik dengan menyertakan bukti-bukti pendukung aktifitas Cina di Arktik untuk mewujudkan kepentingan tersebut.

Arctic is a hot issue in contemporary international politics because of it is emerging issues such as climate change, natural resources potential, and transportation or technology development. Arctic was once important in Cold War period, and now Arctic and non-Arctic countries have began to notice this region once more. China is one of the emerging actor in the Arctic and has been the most outspoken of all non-Arctic countries in addressing Arctic issues. China already take an active role in Arctic Council and doing a lot of cooperation with Arctic countries in many aspects. This research will help to understand what is China interest in the Arctic. It is important to knows China motives in this region to gain more understanding about cooperation or conflict potential with China. This research will mentions China's interest in the Arctic along with proponent evidence to overcome it is interest in this region.
