Reservasi ruangan Sekolah Vokasi UGM saat ini masih menggunakan cara peminjaman konvensional, peminjam harus datang ke bagian aset Sekolah Vokasi UGM yang bertugas menangani peminjaman ruangan untuk memperoleh informasi tentang ketersediaan ruangan yang akan dipinjam, setelah mendapatkan ruangan yang diinginkan peminjam harus membuat surat izin peminjaman ruangan yang kemudian diserahkan kepada petugas akademik KPTU Sekolah Vokasi UGM untuk memverifikasi surat tersebut. Namun terkadang pihak KPTU yang menangani peminjaman ruangan dalam memberikan informasi kepada peminjam kurang valid, sehingga menimbulkan beberapa permasalahan. Selain itu peminjam juga membutuhkan waktu yang lebih lama dalam proses peminjaman ruangan. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, dibuat sistem reservasi ruangan berbasis web Sekolah Vokasi UGM untuk menangani masalah informasi ketersediaan ruangan yang kurang valid dan mempermudah proses peminjaman ruangan. Sistem ini dibangun dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dibantu dengan framework CodeIgniter, Javascript dengan framework JQuery, Webserver Apache, dan MySQL untuk pengelolaan basis datanya. Tujuan dibuat sistem berbasis web agar reservasi ruangan dapat dilakukan secara terpusat dan mempermudah peminjam melakukan proses peminjaman ruangan, serta reservasi dapat dilakukan secara online dengan memanfaatkan jaringan Internet yang sudah berkembang pesat.

Nowdays, the room reservation of vocational college, UGM still used conventional way, the borrower had to come to the asset division of vocational college UGM who had duty to handle the borrowing room to get information room that would be borrowed, after getting the room which was chosen, the borrower had to make letter of borrowing room and then submit it to the academic of KPTU of Vocational College, UGM to verify that letter. But, sometimes, KPTU who handle the borrowing room gave the incorrect information to the borrower. Thus, it caused some problems. Beside that, the borrower also needed longer time in borrowing room. Based on those problems, the writer made web-based room reservation system of Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada to handle the problems of information room that availability which was incorrect and to make process of reservation easier. This system was made by language program PHP that was helped by framework CodeIgniter, Javascript with framework JQuery, Webserver Apache, and MySQL to manage its data based. The aim of making this web-based system in order that reservation room could be done centrally and made the borrower easier in process reservation room, and also reservation could be done in online manner with took the advantages of Internet network that had developed rapidly.
