PENGARUH IKLIM PSIKOLOGIS PERSAINGAN PADA KEPUASAN KEBUTUHAN PSIKOLOGIS DASAR DAN KONSEKUENSINYA PADA SELF DETERMINED MOTIVATION

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh iklim psikologis persaingan terhadap tiga kepuasan kebutuhan psikologis dasar yang terdiri dari rasa kompetens, rasa otonomi dan rasa keterhubungan bagi individu dengan kekompetitifan tinggi dan bagi individu dengan kekompetitifan rendah. Pengkategorian tersebut karena adanya dugaan bahwa pengaruh iklim psikologis persaingan dimoderasi oleh sifat individu kekompetitifan. Pengujian dilakukan untuk mengungkap pengaruh kontradiktif iklim psikologis persaingan terhadap tiga kepuasan kebutuhan tersebut. Lebih lanjut, penelitian ini juga menguji pengaruh rasa kompetens, rasa otonomi dan rasa keterhubungan terhadap self determined motivation. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 661dosen di universitas negeri dan swasta di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling, yaitu pemilihan sampel sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian. Dosen yang dipilih sebagai sampel adalah dosen dengan pengalaman bekerja minimal selama 3 tahun. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bagi individu dengan kekompetitifan tinggi, iklim psikologis persaingan berpengaruh positif terhadap rasa kompetens, rasa otonomi, dan rasa keterhubungan. Bagi individu dengan kekompetitifan rendah iklim psikologis persaingan berpengaruh negatif terhadap rasa kompetens, rasa otonomi dan rasa keterhubungan. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa rasa kompetens, rasa otonomi dan rasa keterhubungan berpengaruh terhadap self determined motivation. Hasil analisis regresi pengaruh tiga kepuasan kebutuhan psikologis dasar terhadap dimensi-dimensi motivasi dan hasil korelasi antar dimensi-dimensi motivasi menunjukkan adanya indikasi bahwa dimensi-dimensi self determined motivation merupakan satu kontinum pengukuran dengan derajat otonomi yang berurutan. The purpose of this study is to test the influence of competitive psychological climate on basic psychological need satisfaction that consist of competence, otonomy and relatedness for high competitive individuals and low competitive individuals. The splitting sample for this analysis is to test the hypotheses of moderating variable of individuals’ competitiveness on the effect of competitive psychological climate.The test is to knowing why competitive psycological climate have an contradictive effect on the basic psychological need satisfactions. This study also test the influences of competence,otonomy and relatednes on self determined motivation. This study used survey method. The sample are 661 lecturers at public and private universities in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. This study used purposive sampling methods, selecting sample based on the purpose of the study The lecterers were chosen are lecturers who have minimun 3 year experiences. The hypotheses testing uses regression analysis. This study found that for high competitive individuals, competitive psychological climate have positive effect on competence, otonomi, and relatedness. For low competitive individuals, competitive psychological climate have negative effect on competence, otonomy dan relatedness. This study also found that competence, otonomy and relatedness positively influences self determined motivation.The regression analysis result of the influences of three basic psychological need satisfactions on the motivation dimensions and corellation result of those motivation dimensios showed that self determined motivation dimensions are measured in one continuum with that relative of otonomous degree.
