KEBANGKITAN GERAKAN POLITIK ISLAM DALAM PERGOLAKAN SURIAH MENURUT PERSEPSI AMERIKA SERIKAT ( Studi Kasus : Persepsi AS terhadap Jabhat Al-Nusrah di Suriah )

Kebangkitan gerakan politik Islam dalam persepsi Amerika Serikat dipandang sebagai sebuah ancaman, potensi ancaman tersebut muncul dalam konteks sosial selama proses interaksi terjadi antara Amerika Serikat dengan berbagai macam pergerakan-pergerakan politik Islam, bahkan potensi ancaman yang dimunculkan oleh pergerakan-pergerakan politik Islam tersebut disetarakan dengan ancaman Komunisme pada era Perang Dingin. Potensi ancaman tersebut kembali muncul dalam persepsi Amerika Serikat terhadap fenomena kebangkitan gerakan politik Islam dalam pergolakan yang terjadi di Suriah yang ditandai dengan bermunculannya berbagai macam kelompok-kelompok militan Jihad Islam yang berkeinginan untuk menegakkan negara Islam di Suriah, terkhusus di antara mereka adalah Jabhat al-Nusra. Kajian ini berfokus pada sebuah upaya untuk menjelaskan mengenai alasan yang menyebabkan Amerika Serikat mempersepsikan kebangkitan gerakan politik Islam dalam pergolakan yang terjadi di Suriah sebagai sebuah ancaman. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksplanatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui kajian pustaka. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan konsep gerakan politik Islam dan perspektif konstruktivisme sebagai kerangka dasar berfikir. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kebangkitan gerakan politik Islam dalam pergolakan yang terjadi di Suriah dipersepsikan oleh Amerika Serikat sebagai sebuah ancaman. Ancaman tersebut merupakan konstruksi realitas sosial yang muncul dari states of mind Amerika Serikat ketika mempersepsikan keamanan dan ancaman itu sendiri, yang diselanjutnya ditimbulkan oleh perbedaan antara dua identitas yang berlawanan serta benturan kepentingan yang berbeda. Identitas konstruksi Amerika Serikat adalah sebuah bangsa yang masyarakatnya menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai demokrasi, kebebasan dan hak azasi manusia, sekaligus juga negara adidaya global yang memiliki tanggung jawab memelihara stabilitas kawasan Timur Tengah dari ancaman ekstremisme yang diakibatkan oleh gerakan politik Islam yang berujung pada terorisme domestik dan internasional. Sementara, fenomena gerakan politik Islam di Suriah menunjukkan adanya tuntutan yang aktif dan dukungan terhadap keyakinan, preskripsi, hukum-hukum yang berasal dari karakter dan identitas Islam, dimana kelompok Jabhat al-Nusra berkeinginan untuk menegakkan negara Islam yang selanjutnya di masukkan oleh Amerika Serikat ke dalam daftar organisasi teroris.

Resurgence of Islamic political movements in the perception of the United States is seen as a threat, the threat potential appears in a social context during the process of interaction occurs between the United States with a variety of Islamic political movements, even the potential threat posed by Islamic political movements are synchronized with the threat of Communism in the Cold War era. The potential threat of re-emerging in the US perception of the phenomenon of the rise of Islamic political movements in the upheaval that took place in Syria which is characterized by the emergence of a wide variety of militant groups Islamic Jihad who wish to establish an Islamic state in Syria, especially those among them is Jabhat al Nusra. This study focuses on an attempt to explain the reasons that led to the United States perceive the rise of Islamic political movements in the upheaval that occurred in Syria as a threat. This research is an explanatory research by collecting data through a literature review. In this study, the authors use the concept of Islamic political movement and perspective of constructivism as the basic framework of thinking. The results of this study indicate that the rise of Islamic political movements in the upheaval that occurred in Syria perceived by the United States as a threat. The threat is the construction of social reality that emerged from the US states of mind when security and the threat it perceives itself, which in turn caused by the differences between the two opposing identities and conflicts of interest are different. Identity construction of the United States is a nation where people uphold the values of democracy, freedom and human rights, as well as a global superpower that has the responsibility of maintaining the stability of the Middle East region from the threat posed by extremist Islamic political movement that led to domestic terrorism and internationally. Meanwhile, the phenomenon of Islamic political movements in Syria showed active demand and support for beliefs, prescriptions, laws derived from the character and identity of Islam, where the Al-Nusra Front group intends to establish an Islamic state which subsequently entered by the United States to in the list of terrorist organizations.
