Museum Astronomi Yogyakarta Dengan Konsep Kelahiran Bintang

Penurunan terhadap minat akan ilmu astronomi pada tahun-tahun belakangan ini terus meningkat. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan banyaknya peningkatan prestasi di bidang sains, khususnya astronomi, baik di sisi akademik maupun non akademik. Tercatat semakin banyak usaha masyarakat Indonesia dalam mengembangkan pemahamannya terhadap ilmu astronomi. Sayangnya, perkembangan ilmu tertua ini di Indonesia belum terfasilitasi dengan baik. Kurangnya perhatian dari pemerintah terhadap ilmu ini menyebabkan turunnya minat masyarakat awam terhadap astronomi. Jika dibiarkan menerus, akan muncul anggapan bahwa ilmu astronomi adalah ilmu yang susah didapatkan khalayak umum karena terbatasnya fasilitas yang terkait dengan ilmu astronomi. Hal ini menyebabkan kurang berkembangnya aktivitas dan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap informasi astronomi yang berakibatkan keterbelakangan persepsi di masyarakat global (dunia). Menanggapi hal tersebut, perlu diberadakannya sebuah sarana dan fasilitas yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai media penyebar informasi dan wawasan terbaru mengenai astronomi. Salah satunya dengan pengadaan Museum Astronomi yang mampu menyajikan wawasan keastronomian ke masyarakat luas. Melalui museum, wawasan dan informasi yang ada dapat tersampaikan dengan cara yang menghibur (rekreatif). Konsep Kelahiran Bintang, Museum ini mengajak pengunjung untuk mengetahui dan mengeksplorasi angkasa luar melalui pencitraan luar angkasa pada tata ruang, teknik penyajian benda pamer, dan pada setiap elemen desainnya. Pengunjung dapat merasakan sensasi berada di angkasa luar melalui visual dan tekstur yang disajikan dalam museum. Sehingga melalui museum ini, pengunjung dapat merasakan kebesaran-Nya dengan jarak yang dekat.

An interest toward astronomy has been increasing these last years. It is shown by the increasing number of achievement on science, especially astronomy, from academic and non academic views. Indonesian people, lately, have shown their effort to broaden their knowledge toward astronomy as a science. But unfortunately, until now, this sector of science still do not have a formal facility that being taken care of and capable to deliver the messages and meaning behind this sector. Lack of attention from the government toward this sector causes in degradation of interest from the people. If this condition continues to happen from this moment onward, the astronomy knowledge degradation cannot be avoided anymore. This situation can lead to an assumption that astronomy are a hard to get science because of the lack of facility on this sector, especially in Indonesia. This can make minimal comprehension of astronomy information that can lead to a distinct perception in global community as a final result. In respond to the situation that being stated above, the needs of astronomy facility became urgent. This facility can be used as an information distributing agent that contributing every development and event that happened or about to happen on astronomy world. One of many ways is to create a thematic Museum (Astronomy Museum) with selected contents that can help people to understand about this sector. Through the museum, information and knowledge are transferred interactively (museum as recreational facility) so it will not bore the visitors. Through The Star Reborn Concept, this museum invites the visitor to explore outer space by creating the similar image as the real outer space through the interiors, display technique, and in every part of the design elements. The usage of sensory design in this museum, especially visual, is to stimulate visitor to feel exploring the universe in real time. In additional, we hope through this museum visitor can feel the existence of The Creator from a replica of the creations.
